It never stops

So, as I mentioned in the "How's everyone's October going?" thread, I took the month off (except for my "love them" shops) and have had time to read the forum more.

I have noticed sooooooooo many people mentioning this cool shop and that cool shop. I am saying to myself, "Self, why have we not seen these shops before??? Self, you are signed with soooooo many companies you would think you would have at least brushed by these!!!"

So I went back in and searched my companies... you got it, I found them.

My point is that sometimes you get "stuck" in a routine, by this I mean just checking the same job boards for the same companies.

The reason you sign for so many to begin with is to open your opportunities. Clients change and MSC's pick up new shops all the time. The MSC's that have no shops in your area today can pick up new clients and all of a sudden they have many, many shops on their boards for you.

The work and research never stops. I am so glad I decided to take some time off from shopping. It gave me more time to research and now I have a well rounded Holiday season planned. There are so many new opportunities for me because of this forum and the comments here... I feel very blessed right now....

O.o o.O

Good advice, thanks! I find too that I check the same 15-20 MSC shop boards every day, but can usually find a random hidden gem from "one of those MSC's that never has any shops in my country."
Thank you Kathee; your post inspires me to go through my list, especially since I too am in New England.
I just counted and I'm signed up with 142 companies. I have them all bookmarked and saved in folders, Sassie, Prophet, Shopmetrics, etc, and one big catch-all for the ones with proprietary portals.

If I'm planning a route, I will actually open and review every one of those tabs, looking to see if they have jobs in my target town or on the way. So about three times a month I see every one of them. I can do an "open all in tabs," platform by platform, which enables quick log in since all the log ins are on the same part of the page. It takes me about an hour to see them all, closing the tabs that don't have jobs, leaving open the ones I might want to work into a route.

When I'm not looking for a route, I just look at any email that catches my eye with a bonused shop. So if you rely on emails to do shops, you'll miss a lot, because a lot of them never send emails. (I get an average of less than 100 a day, and about 20 of those will be from three particularly annoying companies. So clearly not all of them send emails very often.)

It would be a good practice to check all your companies about the 20th of the month (when bonuses might be creeping up) and about the 3rd of the month (to catch the companies who load their jobs at the beginning of the month.

Time to build a bigger bridge.
At the bottom of each page there is an "Official List of Mystery Shopping Companies" link. I'm currently signed up with 214 companies.

I was going to say, at 142 (MSCs not pounds) I'm a lightweight compared to a lot of shoppers here. The more companies you sign up with, the more shops you'll have access to. I've only shopped for about a third of them. But that was also true when I was only signed up with 40 companies.

Edited to clarify a poorly (and amusingly) worded post....

LOL! Dspeakes, I just clicked on the "new" button and it brought me to your post. I forgot what this thread was about and, at first, I thought you were comparing your weight to the weight of other shoppers. Of course, I was relieved to find out I was dead wrong. smiling smiley
