Usually within 2 hours, it depends on when you said you could do it. If the choices were "within hours" "within 3 days" and "within a week" and you say "within hours" you generally hear right away (I've had some responses that came within minutes). If you said it would take longer, they will wait to see if anyone else said they could do it right away; if not, they will give it to whoever said they could do it soonest.
Time to build a bigger bridge.
I've always heard back within a couple of hours. Some have been instant.
They let you know in the app. I think you check under My Gigs but it might be Notifications. There's very little available in my area and I've never been chosen. They seem to stick with their regulars for the few gigs that are available.
I tried it and got assignments but I never could get my camera to upload. I have a new smartphone now, but I have work coming out of my ears from all my sources, not just MSing. My chiropractor said I'm working too hard, driving too much, not eating right and not getting enough sleep. I am eating a nutritious salad as I read this, and I will soon go to bed. My husband is at work so I hope the hyperactive dog is complacent until he gets home. He gives the dog his last walk for the evening when he arrives, but sometimes the dog wakens me early because he is impatient.
I had the same problems uploading images. It annoyed the heck out of me!!! I gave up Gigwalk a while ago. I also have a new phone, though, so maybe I'll give it another try.
Drains my battery power on my phone... lots of opportunities but they never assign any to me and I could be standing right across the street from the store.

I don't like this company at all. I got my first five gigs, but could only complete one of them. The other stores were not there anymore. In the guidelines, it says in this case to still take a picture of the building with the street number in it and send in. The other 4 gigs were all buildings that had been torn down, and there was construction going on. So, there was no building or street number to take a picture of. I explained this to the company, but it penalized me. I contacted support and explained as well. They said those should not have counted against me, but they did, and apparently there is nothing I can do it change it. I got a survey from them asking me to rate them, and I only gave them a 1. They asked why in an email, and I told them the above story. It is a good idea, but apparently you cannot communicate with them at all.
Thank--I signed up for it. Can you tell me a little about it? How long have you worked for them and have you made some money?
I installed gigwalk again this morning and no gigs near me which is very odd. I cannot find a setting on the app to change my zip. 
I had the app a few months ago and there were plenty of jobs.

I installed field agent this morning and no shops in my area. I was able to change the zip and lots are showing now.

I had the same problem, until I expended my memory. No problems since.
Writer,I have always been paid quickly by Field Agent. You must do the shop within 2 hours. I have done about 5 shops with them-super easy. Take a few pix, answer a couple of questions and you are done. Rewardable is another good app.
Field agent pays out within under an hour of cashing out.
I think Field Agent is only available on iPhone or only available for phones in the US. It won't let me download it here.

There's finally a Gigwalk available here. But they want 200! pictures of a Walmart and pay $34! How are you going to take 200 pictures without being seen? They have 2 locations available to me. I'm not going to try.
They have lots available across the GTA.. You have to get the assignment first though. They do a lot of "auto assigning" I've been right in front of a store they wanted done and it took four days for the app to tell me it was gone. I wish I could get one as I do pic taking for a living.
P.S. Walmart employees don't give a damn about what you are doing in the store as long as you aren't stealing. Give it a shot!

I was actually stopped in a Wal Mart while doing a Field Agent assignment. The manager told me I was not allowed to take photos in the store. I had completed a good portion of the assignment, and it was made good, but 200 is definitely something to be concerned about. If Gigwalk has a letter of authorization for you to print,, then that is another story,,,,
I've been followed by security at two Walmarts while doing Stock Up and Field Agent. I won't attempt these kind of jobs unless they can be done quickly.
