DNA alert system

Well? I just finished reading my guidelines for a shop and this DNA Alert was mentioned.

It's about time! I'm tired of having to do more and more work to PROVE I'm where I'm supposed to be and that my pictures are the ones I took while on that particular shop.

It's the dishonest shopper who's making it harder and harder for us.

I hope this MSC catches them and boots them out. More work for me. smiling smiley

Oh. Sorry.

The program can detect duplicated submitted receipts, narratives, photos etc. In other words, don't try to submit a photo that you've submitted before. (like pretending you did the shop) They'll catch ya! tongue sticking out smiley

I can't believe I didn't mention this. Oops.
I think thats awesome. I only briefly heard about it once before but I hope they all implement it asap.

I"m great of course. I'm waiting on a msp to get back to me about some shops they asked me to do. I can't be contacted once I get out into the beautiful hills of East Kentucky. I"ll have to leave in an hour regardless. How are you doing today?
When I first read your post I was thinking "how are they going to get shoppers DNA?" Hair or sputum sample to be delivered to the company before you can shop? Then the clarification, now it makes sense. Truly I cannot believe shoppers would go to the trouble of trying to send in duplicate piks or trying to figure out how to scam the MSC's. Takes less time to just do the work.
There's only one time where I've used a duplicate picture. It was a gas station shop and I needed a picture of the overall site and the building. The problem was there were so many thugs around I couldn't get close enough to the building, even with a zoom lens. I hadn't brought the big telephoto lens because I was in a rather rural area and wasn't expecting any thugs. I ended up switching the camera to high resolution and shot the picture. I then saved it and also resized it to a smaller file size for the overall picture. I then cropped the overall high resolution picture close to get the building, and lightened the shadow in Photoshop.

I did tell the MSC what I did and why. Didn't hear back from them so I guess they were okay with it.

The "thugs" can get a little aggressive if they think you are taking their picture, maybe they think you are capturing their soul in the picture. I recently purchased a new camera that has a zoom but I think I need an additional telephoto lens to get those shots from across the street.
Telephoto lenses are your best friend if you have pro or entry level equipment already. They are a godsend for menu audits

A drug dealer crossed the street and approached me. He asked me if I was taking a picture of him in his house. I told him no. I maintained eye contact and told him I was doing an audit for **** and continued working. He left me alone. An employee told me who he was.

What I meant, by duplicate photos, is when someone forgets to take a picture and uses one from a previous shop. smiling smiley
Understood what you meant Canck but there are some shops where using the same picture twice is not allowed. Technically that's what I did, even though it was edited.

I've never considered doing such a thing. How would you get around the time/date stamp not agreeing? I keep it on for all photos whether they require it or not.
I remember reading here on the forum where a shopper cheated and used a business card from a previous shop and submitted that card instead of actually doing the shop.

This shopper got caught. The MSC compared the card to a previous submitted card and questioned it. Maybe because of something that was on the card that made it stick out, like a scratch, a bend, a mark etc. Who knows.

The salesperson on the card no longer worked at the location. I believe the client said he hadn't worked here in over six months!
I have seen this for a long time with a particular MSC. I find it funny that they feel the need to mention it, but they need to make their point. I wish we had a DNA alert for some of these job postings! I feel like most of the people who frequent these groups are looking for tips and help to do their jobs better. As a result, we are shocked to learn that there are people who want to cheat and will submit false information without thinking twice. High Five to all the great shoppers out there who are not worried about DNA alert! :-)
This is the first I have heard about DNA Alert and I think it is a great idea. It only takes one bad apple to upset the apple cart and we all pay for it. I'm off topic, I know - but I just looked outside and its pouring buckets and the wind is blowing the rain sideways. I just hope the power doesn't go out....good grief!
