Does anyone know which MSC's are scheduling bank shops with PNC? I can't seem to locate those, if they even exist.

I have not seen any companys scheduling bank jobs with PNC.

I've done bank shops for Feedback Plus and Second To None. <I've also done> Citi Bank.

Mod note: Not sure if the client mentioned goes with either of the two MSC's mentioned, but I changed the wording a bit there.

I've done bank shops for 4 companies, but have not seen any shop there.

I can tell you beyond a shadow of a doubt that PNC does not have mystery shoppers. They use Gallop to call customers and poll them on their experiences. The only exception is that National City used to be mystery shopped but that program is likely ending once the transition to PNC is complete.

Same question for TD bank, which used to be Commerce Bank, primarily in the Northeast. Anyone know if they use mystery shoppers and if so what company?

I just did a Bank shop for Bare Int'l.

shops for banks in the northeast are few and far between... i know of only two banks paying for shops and two banks accepting the shops... i would like to think pnc gets shopped because they are large and i think would benefit from the information but i guess they dont...

most of the banks here (lives in north east PA) are small... and so i dont think they would have the money to be shopped..

what about western union shop what if they send you like 4,500 and tel you to take out your pay and send the rest to adress is this normal and can i trust this company have you heard of this

This is a SCAM, do not ever ever take that kind of money and send it overseas or anywhere for that matter. Not only is the check fake but you risk the chance of the check bouncing and the money comes out of your account.

Mfp922, no legitimate mystery shopping company will ever send you a check that is not payment for a shop already completed. That is one of many ways that our industry has been preyed upon. It is also not uncommon for the name of a legitimate company to be used, or some variation of it, to make you think it's a company you trust. If you see or receive anything unusual, even if it claims to be from a trusted source, it's better to check it out. Once companies become aware of the problem, they will usually post something on their websites to alert others.

In regards to the bank shops, it is not a violation of your ICA to say which company does a certain type of shop, but it is a violation to mention client names.

yes PNC is getting shopped right now, but I think that it is just a limited time project because of the merger

I shopped both PNC and National City banks in Dec last year. They paid a decent amount for the work I did. I haven't seen any more sent out this year though. I will point you guys in the direction when they do come out. ;-)

I did shops for PNC last year. I currently do bank shops for Measure Consumer Perspectives and Marketing Endeavors (for a small local bank chain and for a regional credit union) and may begin doing Chase since I just opened an account there. I also did a bunch of regional bank shops for MFI in the last part of the year. I'm in a holding pattern right now to do a series of competitive credit union shops. They don't pay a ton, but $14-$18 with no expenses laid out or waiting on a reimbursemtn they can really make a difference. A good digital voice recorder what has upload capabilities lets me do a string of banks in one day without getting the details mixed up!

iblessyah, That is a good thing to do with the recorder. I just did 6 TD banks and wish I had one to use! Your right about getting things mixed up. I just had to write things down after I left the bank to help remind me. They called me to do these as they needed to get done ASAP and she even bonused them because I said I'd do all of them. I really need to invest in a good recorder.

I don't like doing the banks as they take up too much time, though the pay is ok. Maybe I wouldn't mind if I had a recorder.

Well, there goes the entire month of January pay! A recorder and a GPS! Fun new toys!

Yeah, my recorder really handles the banks! Also, I don't use it for an entire shop where I have to gather names. I log in the entry time and then turn it on an off in my pocket to "post" another name and description or issue. I only do that in big box stores where I can put distance between my whispers and possible "big ears" as my grandchildren call them. lol It's great for being able to simply transcribe in those narratives that say, "and how did the associate respond". I can tell them exactly what was said.

I do bank shops for athpower, Customer 1st and interestingly, Harland Clarke.

I thought they just printed checks but apparently they have a MS division for banks and CUs. They pay fierce money plus mileage.

I do shops for Informa and ath Power.

I have done a lot of bank shops for many companies including ATH Poweronline, Bare International, Cirrus Marketing, Informa Research, Mystery Researchers, Intelli-Shop, Insula Research, Maritz, KSS, Confrero, and others. I find these shops very lucrative even though they usually require quite a bit of narrative and are very exact to perform.

And is filled with ICA errors as well.

Shopping across Indiana but mostly around Indianapolis.

I have to disagree, I just shopped 2 PNC banks last week.

I have done PNC for <an MSC>.. i have also done other banks for RSG, Maritz and Kinesis.
