Chevron Question

For the Chevron mystery shops, the last question is "Does this location have a quick service restaurant?" and then lists a bunch of possible brands of QSRs, with "Other" being the last option. In my area, almost all of them have a deli/diner type area that has chicken tenders, burgers, etc. It's not branded, it's just a lady cooking some food and putting it in a glass display and then people come by and she puts it in a bag. It's not a separate thing, usually it's right next to the register, and sometimes the person running the register is also doing the food thing. QSR or not?

I usually pick other and then list the name of the local restaurant. If there is not a name on it, as you are describing, I'd choose, "No." Sounds like the kind of food we have at ARCO/BP/AM-PM. Not counted as QSR.
Yeah, I'm leaning more towards no.

Here's a good photo of what I'm talking about!

I see such food/deli offerings at about 15% of all gas stations around me. I always put "no" for QSR.
I have never come across any gas station serving items such as your picture suggests! I would love to have one - would make for any easy dinner later in the day. The closest I've seen are doughnut shops and sandwich shops attached.

Otherwise, the better stations have those heated roller things with their weiners rolling about upon them (or other more disgusting things).
Unless they cook food to order it's a no for me. For example if they have a hot case and they have a kitchen where they cook to go in the hot case I say no. If they'll cook me a fresh hamburger any time any way I like it I say yes.

I would say no for the picture above. I would consider it part of the store. You probably pay at the store cash register.

Some of my Chevrons and Texacos do have food service inside the store that seems "separate," with separate cash registers and appear to be run by someone else. It's an easier decision when it's a Taco Bell or has a sandwich company name, but some are clearly separate entities and I say "Other" for them. A big thing in my area is to have a trailer parked outside in the parking lot by the gas pumps selling tacos or sandwiches and I call those Other.
Well, I learn something on this forum every day. I hadn't considered the taco trucks and such as being a part of the store, as in qualifying as a QSR. I'll have to rethink this.

We don't have taco trucks here, but yeah, I hadn't thought of that either.

We have a lot of trailer food here. The trailers and trucks are paying some (whether it is the store employee, manager, or the owner) for the space they are occupying in the station's lot. The permit to serve food has to note the address at which they are operating.
Yes. I love your trailer food. I need to visit Austin again soon. The last time I skipped SXSW was 2007. :/
