What accounting software do you use?

I run a small non mystery shopping business from home and mystery shop. I am looking for a software besides Quicken that would work for multiple income streams. I dont need it to do payroll, just keep track of incoming and outgoing for both businesses, tax reports snd keep track of incoming orders. Fir the shopoing part one that I would be able to list msc, job number, completed date, pay, reimbursement, paid by and mileage. Am I asking to much? I read about a cloud based software called WAVE but I don't know if I csn do two businesses and keep them separate. I need to get organized!

Thanks!

I just use an old version of Quicken. What it doesn't track, like mileage, is on my spreadsheet. There are newwer versions which may be designed to work better with small, home based businesses. Since you're comfortable with it, have you considered Quickbooks? It's been a while since I've worked with QB and don't know what they have to offer right now.

Quicken Home and Business has the mileage tracker (although it used an incorrect rate for all of 2014). It wouldn't be hard to set it up for multiple businesses. Quickbooks would work too, but it's more expensive and geared more for corporations.

Time to build a bigger bridge.
When I ran my small business (six or so employees), I used software called AccountEdge. It did everything I needed, including general ledger, invoicing, sales analysis, payroll, banking and tax reports. Now I use the non-payroll version, called AccountEdge Basic. I like it because it is not a subscription cloud service. You pay $99 for the program and it's yours.

No fee, no shop.
I use QuickBooks for almost everything, but find it easier to use a spreadsheet to track my mileage. You could get an older version of QuickBooks for a very reasonable price on Ebay.
QuickBooks will give you everything you need and then some. Like spaztck said, I would recommend getting an older version from Ebay. Depending on what you are using it for, you may need upgrades, but it would still be cheaper than getting the latest version.
