Trendsource Covert inspections
I am extremely uncomfortable with the assignments where you take pictures incognito. I always feel my pictures will not have the quality, or sharpness, (and a chance of being denied) had I had a letter of authorization and they know I was taking pictures.
I'm not digging the idea of it but I signed on and committed and it's my first job with TS so I feel like I have to get it done. Normally I'd just cancel it if I don't like the guidelines I receive after signing up for it, but I'm going to press on and see how it goes.

They are a great company to work for and they pay fast! But the photos undercover are just too uncomfortable for me. I prefer the BV's and the FF shops
You don't have to be undercover at all. Fill out the paperwork while in your vehicle regarding the property and the surrounding area. Then just go stand on the sidewalk, right out in the open, take the building pictures, step onto the street. Look left, snap. Look right, snap. You're done.
I've been approached once out of 50-60 of these, and the business was a separate building on a property shared by a private residence. The tenant came out. The LOA worked just fine.

Right. These are the basic Property Inspections. The Business Evals are when you go inside and ask questions and take photos related to information security. The Property Inspections are the ones that ask about the neighborhood, the building construction and condition, and any visible hazards. You're not to set foot on the property and need photos of the front and sides of the building(s), and a left and right street view.

Yeah, what he's describing is actually what I'm talking about. It was pretty painless, though the survey seems to expect a little more from me than I feel I'm qualified to provide. How the hell am I supposed to know if there are underground fuel tanks??

But only if I can dig the hole from the street or sidewalk since I'm not allowed on the property. Can I just toss a lit match on the lawn and see what happens?

With the size of the survey and the amount of narrative expected, I will not be doing another one of these for anywhere near $15. Absolutely not worth it.

The ones where you do not go inside, and only take exterior photos, don't take long, usually. However, I will agree that Trendsource is somewhat low paying on business inspections.
I have done some which were of residential properties for banks. Very easy and fast. I have done others of fast food restaurants from the outside sidewalk. Again, very easy. I have never had one which asked about underground fuel tanks.

I just started doing these. I was approached the other day by a martial arts instructor, but he posed no problem and only wanted to know if he could help me. I explained that I had not stepped on the property and had authorization, but he was fine about it and let me continue.
What I'm finding to be a problem is where to park while you're taking the pictures. So far I've been lucky, but I can see it being difficult in certain types of situations.
