I feel horrible..

I flaked today. Well, I tried to do the shops anyway but my mind just would not let me. I had 5 shops scheduled, which is usually no problem for me. But I have had 9 hours sleep in 3 days. Partially because of my route shops yesterday and partially because I have a 3 yr. old that does not like to sleep.

Anyway, I did the two clothing shops first and did just fine on those but when I tried to do the 2 fast food shops, that is where the trouble began. First time, I went through the drive-thru and could not locate my credit card. lol. Turns out after I pulled into a parking spot to look for it. I was sitting on the card. So I thought well, I will order my husband some food and try this again. This time I forgot to order the drink. So I was out $13 for a shop that pays $18 total including reimbursements and still did not have an appropriate shop. I was not going to try a third time. So I emailed the scheduler about those two shops and emailed my pizza shop scheduler promising to complete tomorrow. Hopefully, this will not hurt my reputation too bad. But I was just too tired to think and I wanted to make sure I completed them properly.

I went home and took a 2 hour nap. I am feeling much better now but getting ready to head to bed for hopefully 5 hours sleep before my girl gets up again. lol.

Have y'all had any experience like this? How bad does it hurt your reputation?

I did have something like that happen, where I was doing a route and wasn't able to make the last stop I e-mailed the scheduler right away, apologizing, and offered to pick the shop up the first thing the next day. Didn't hear back, but was able to self-assign and complete the same shop 3 days later. My reputation might have been hurt a bit, but it wasn't enough that I did any less business the next month. If you have proven yourself to be a pretty reliable shopper, I would not worry about it too much. The schedulers tend to understand off days if your general performance is good or excellent, especially if you have already done many shops with them, have good references, or hold MSPA certification----I would be more concerned about the lack of sleep you're getting, myself. I hope you can catch up soon.
Thank you for your reply! I have my daughter in therapy and trying to get her evaluated for ADHD/autism. Her therapist thinks she may have both. I know she is ADHD, at least. She is very, very hyper and rarely sits down. But she starts pre-school on Monday, so I can get a few hours rest while she is in school.
You're welcome. My heart does go out to you---sounds like you have a lot on your plate! Now, try to get some sleep for tonight!
I also have a 3 yr old so I understand a little. I hope you get some rest and best of luck to you on the remainder of the shops!
I have been there. MarketForce receives the brunt of my flakes because it's just too easy to reschedule and self assign. I keep waiting for them to deactivate me, but they keep me on. I probably only cancel 2% of shops (because I've exhausted the reschedule button or there are no more reschedule dates) but feel lousy every time. I pile too much on my plate (sometimes literally with multiple food shops in one day!) and most days I can keep up with it or force myself to try. But every so often that one day pops up that I just can't do it all. I hope your schedulers all understand and that you showing you meant it when you said you'd do it another day proves your worth. Good luck and get some more sleep!

Doing what I can to enhance the life of my family! I LOVE what I do smiling smiley
I am feeling a little better, not about the shops though. I have got about 6 hours interrupted sleep today. lol But that is way better than 3.
That it is. I can guarantee you will feel better about the shops----everything seems worse when you're exhausted. We all have to learn how to pace ourselves with these things, and sometimes, you just have to cut yourself some slack. We ALL get exhausted. I doubt there's one long-term poster here who hasn't had this happen and rebounded from it. Some companies will be more understanding than others, but if they know you're the kind of shopper who'll do lots of shops really well & doesn't violate your contracts, then the MSCs will want to hold onto you.
Try a route of 11 shops and racing to the last shop that you have to enter by 8pm and getting in the door at 7:59 PM. Phew. This after driving all day like 7 hours driving and 3 hours preforming 10 other shops. Then after that last shop take the photos of the pizza and drive 90 minutes back home only to enter reports for 11 shops. Then get up early and drive an hour and 40 minutes to get to the first of 6 more shops the next day.
OP I am not trying to compete just saying I hear ya. Best wishes it gets better not easier but better.

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.
lol. I did that on Thursday with 3 hours of sleep, BuffaloNY101. I got home at 8 pm from driving and doing shops since 9 am. Then was up til 5 am working on reports (long narratives on 3 of the shops). It sucks. I think my total driving and work time that day was something around 20 hours. I will not be doing that again. It will be 2 max with long narratives and maybe 1 medium size report, then the rest will be quick and easy shops.
