Ikea shops

Anybody do Ikea MS before. It looks extremely involved for $45,plus a required non-reimbursed food item. Anyone done one before have tips or suggestions whether or not to do it.

If you can't find any information searching for Ikea, try "the shop from hell." One or the other should return some results.

They were bonused for $15 more or $60. I have done the same location 6 times in the past year. The fastest time is 2 1/2 hours but I dined at the restaurant. Did one last week.. Good instructions. Have a plan. Seek help as soon as possible. You will have 11 departments with narrative. I do too much detail which the MSC loves.

Try to be concise in your shopping request. Weekdays are easiest. Great Christmas season retail shop as they are not busy. Look up the products before you go the first time.

I complain to my MS companion all the time but I do like doing them. Call me crazy. However I had two co-workers who I was sure knew me. I'll wait three months before I think about doing one again.

They can be done in 2 1/2 - 3 hours, unless busy.

I've done the shops, years ago, for 95 - 120 dollars. The fastest I've completed the shop was in 2.5 hours. The input takes me another 1 - 2 hours. I do not think this shop is worth it, and we have not discussed the 4 month waiting period to get paid. I've read shoppers who experienced rejected reports because the employee did not work in the department cited. Definitely search the boards, but I would pass.

I did one a couple of months ago, simply because I needed to go anyway. Extremely convoluted, lots of narrative and interactions, and some of the interactions are so specific that is not hard to miss a guideline - especially for special order items, with somewhat unclear instructions and which rarely go as spec'd. You need to provide names of all employees, but the badges are hardly visible. On top of that you need to be ready to buy something and then return it right away (and since I went close to the end of the day, I almost didn't make it to the return queue). The report took me almost 4 hours in addition to the visit (even though I filled portions of it in my tablet while still on the shop). And you don't get reimbursed for the food (though at least is cheap). And because of the guidelines I missed, I almost got it rejected (I managed to get a 7).

I wouldn't do it again for less than $90. Even worse when you consider the MSC takes so long to pay.
Do they really take that long? I was considering picking up these $50 apartment shops they have this weekend but I've never shopped for them. I have submitted questions to them in email but received no response, which to me is a big red flag of what to expect. If they really take 4 months to pay I don't even want to touch these apartment shops

Yes, up to 4 months to pay. And, you may have to chase them around. Part of the problem is that you have to submit an invoice at the end of the month for all the shops you did for them, or you won't get paid until you do (well, 3-4 months after you do).
Never have done one, but it's on my "don't-touch-with-a-forty-foot-pole" list.

My daughter said she would go with me. Must you shop alone? Yes, I have read the message boards and I appreciate them.
I looked through the Guidelines and have not found anything saying you have to shop alone. Have you contacted the scheduler? While the offer email has a generic addy, the scheduler's name and address is at the bottom. She gets back to me quickly.

It doesn't say anywhere that you have to shop alone - But don't forget it is you, the MS, who has to do all the interactions. I wouldn't risk "outsourcing" part of the shop to my companion (though I would rely in her memory for some things smiling smiley )
I actually picked one up but ended up cancelling it. I'm almost certain I read in the guidelines that you must be by yourself
I did one yesterday. It was hard and crazy, even with a bonus at $60. I may would do them again if i could get into the routine of it all, but it was very difficult and may not even be worth the $60
It is...the report writing does go quickly and I've gotten all 10's. Now I just scan the cheat sheet before shopping the department for the important interactions. I try to provoke an offer of service as quick as possible. However I am not shopping again for at least 3 months as I know two associates may have recognized me.
