Coyle Bed & Breakfast Inn Shops

Has anyone ever done one of these? I tried to click the report preview and had no luck. It's a nice fee and reimbursed room, just wondering about how much work is involved.

I'd say it's average amount of work for a Coyle report, meaning that it's an overnight and you will probably spend the next day writing the report.

The one I did came with dinner (not all do), plus a wine/cheese hour and breakfast the next morning, so it was kind of like 3 small restaurant reports plus the night in the hotel. It was totally worth it for me, since the one I did was in CA wine country had a $650 value with the dinner included.
Haven't done one yet, but they caught my eye: I've signed up for a very picturesque B&B. I hope I get it so I can spring it on Mrs. Pinchers as a surprise. :-)

I've been hesitant because the fee includes the travel. Thanks, Steve, for letting us know that no, it's not less work. I think I'll wait until the deadline is nearer and ask for a travel bonus. The distance makes it not worth a "regular" report for just the fee.

Now scheduling travel shops for the day after Christmas through mid-January.
Thanks all for the replies. I think I'll verify my work schedule for next week and take the one close to home. It will be my first Coyle shop. If it goes well, then I'll do the second one that's about an hour away.

You can always ask for travel for hotel assignments. Don't count on a 'bonus'.
You probably won't get a hotel assignment if you haven't done any other evaluations for them. It's a lot of money to eat if a report goes south, so they usually only go to experienced shoppers.
I have done several of the bed and breakfast shops and like doing them. They are easier than a regular hotel shop, in my opinion, because most of these businesses are small, so there aren't typically a lot of meals to write up, which I find very time consuming and tedious. The fee is $100 for the ones in my area, which is higher than many of their shops. Since I live in Orlando and several are within a couple of hours of here, the cost of driving is covered. You can always google the property before accepting, as you will get an idea of its size. My experience has been the smaller the property, the easier the report. And though there aren't a lot of meals to write about, there is typically an evening reception and breakfast, both of which are pretty easy to write up because choices are limited and don't require constant clock watching. Also, because staff is usually limited, you just have to learn a few names.
