Trend Micro Home Network Security

Was anyone else asked to be a Trend Micro Home Network Security Beta Tester?

After doing the beta testing and 2 surveys they will give a $100 AMEX gift card. I have not done one of these before and am concerned at setting things up and it not being a legitimate company and will take my data and do something with it.

Normally I would relook at my emails and do some research but I recently had the last 4 years of emails wiped clean from my account by error. I want to do my due diligence.

Thanks for your help.

Is this a job you found on a job board of an MSC with whom you were registered or is this an 'opportunity' that found you? If it was a job you requested from a legit MSC I would assume it is what it is purporting to be. If it is an 'opportunity' that found you I would not touch it, suspecting it was a 'creative' way to get through your firewall for full access to your home network.
The offer may only look like it's from a legitimate MSC. Scammers can imitate them. This job sounds fishy. Also, beta testing means the security program might not work; so you'd be exposed to viruses.
I can't imagine an MSC doing beta testing anyway. Trend Micro has been around a long time as a virus protection company. My sons who are computer geeks on occasion do some beta testing of different types of software, but even that is mostly 'in house' for products. I'm not sure that many shoppers would know enough to identify that a problem was due to the software rather than something they inadvertently did.
