Audits?

I've searched but am only finding references to audit jobs, not what they're actually about.

I have an opportunity to do a bank audit, but in order to get details I have to accept the job and I don't want to do that in case it's something I really have no inclination to do.

Would anyone mind giving me a quick description of what an audit entails please? It's not one where I would have to reveal myself at all...if that makes any difference.

Thanks a million!

Edit for ridiculous typo error. smiling smiley

Unfortunately the word "audit" is thrown around a lot and quite frequently is inappropriately used to describe a standard bank platform shop where you have an interaction with the teller and an interaction with a banker in one of the side offices. The word "audit" defines out as an examination of financial records for accuracy. Yet it is used sloppily to do a reveal shop at a cell phone place to see if they are using the current versions of publications. It is used to covertly check and see if certain tires are in stock. It is used to check shelf pricing. It is a poor, sad, misused word and when applied to mystery shopping can be almost any darn thing at all.
The word audit is thrown around, go by the pay, a 10.00 Bank job can be called an audit but really is just a simple Bank job. Audits usually go for 35.00 per job, and are involved...you would need to know what your doing.

Live consciously....
Okay, gotcha. In other words, different MSCs may use audit to describe different tasks and one should never assume one knows exactly what's meant by it!

I come from a finance background so to me the word 'audit' meant possibly taking on huge responsibilities of the type I no longer want to be involved with.

Nice to know it's still a mystery! LOL

Thanks to you both for your responses. smiling smiley
And it is funny because over time you will learn to recognize that if it is company ABC a $10 shop is a whole lot more work than it is worth regardless of what they call it while from company GHF a $10 shop is a quick favor that helps keep the $30 jobs flowing.
