Looking for a timing APP?

Hello,
Does anyone have a timing APP they recommend? I've been doing a lot of restaurant shops lately and I could use a reliable way to time all the requirements. Thanks!

I usually use my voice recorder on my iphone. (I'm sure Android has something similar). Press record before you arrive to the first timing place. Then cough, or simply say "1" "2" "3" as you arrive at other stations. Then when you get home (or somewhere you can take notes), play the audio back. Do a bit of simple math. and Ta dah! Exact timing.
Yep a good voice recording app serves two fold. It allows you to play back the audio to be accurate on say upsell suggestions, and it can give you an accurate timer, because you can hear the events take place. A good recorder will even give you a time and date stamp so you know exactly what time the recording began which is handy when the form asks "what time did you enter the store." "what time did you leave."
Having the recording going with the phone either on the table on in your shirt pocket is a bit less suspicious and less awkward than just a timer you may have to look at several times during the meal.
One problem I have with my phone on longer shops-I have to listen to the entire recording to capture all the timing details. Surely there's a better way! What am I missing?

I know with the Apple Voice Recorder for iPhone, it shows you a wave guide of the audio playback. So... say you are sitting there and nothing is happening for twenty minutes, the image of the recording will look like a mostly flat line. So 1., I can remember that it took at least 20 minutes to get service, so I just scroll to 20 minutes to begin playing. 2. I can also 'see' that nothing happened for the first 20 minutes (assuming it is a somewhat quiet environment.) So I scroll until I see a peak on the audio and begin playing from there.
If you are having trouble scrolling back and forth during the playback on your phone, transfer the recording to your PC. I find it easier to be more exact using my mouse on the larger screen.

One MSC has recommended Hybrid stopwatch in the Google play store. I have used it to get the exact results needed plus lap timer. I have since started using Smart voice recorder and using VLC player for play back
If a timing app works better for you and you're comfortable with that, then I'd stick with it.
The recorder I have on my phone (Samsung voice recorder app) has a 2x and 4x fast forward button as well as the wave guide and bookmarks. So if I know the next timed thing doesn't happen for a while, i can hit the 4x play. It still plays the audio, and any voices tend to sound like the chipmunks. Or I can just slide the audio ahead to certain times.
I really like Shop-It. It has the appearance of a texting app. You can mark a time by just tapping the screen, or write notes which will have the time marked. You can also add photos, and recordings to your notes, (but you have to switch to airplane mode for recording because a call will stop the recording mid-stream).
