Service Intelligence

Has anyone worked for Service Intelligence. I just signed up and their initial welcome email is a mile long and now I am worried their jobs will be all complicated and not worth the time, effort or money?

I have worked for them for years and at first it is a bit daunting. You do have to certify for each of the clients you want to take a job for and those certifications will have updates over time. I find, however, that their certifications are not just filler but have actual content and do leave you ready to go do the job. If there are a maximum number of attempts you get to pass a quiz for a particular client you are given that info up front.

These guys have tons of jobs in my area so I am likely to do 15-20 of them per month. They are simple and straightforward. The pay is like clockwork by direct deposit on the last business day of the month following the month of the work. I find that communication through there website VOX system is better than most companies. They do have shops pretty much everywhere in the US and I gather they cover Canada pretty well as well. They are a Canadian company.
I do a lot of shops for them also and they are one of the best to work for. I also like the fact that for most of their shops you do not have to scan the receipts. The forms for the shops I do are very easy. Mostly multiple-choice.
I have been w/ them almost 4 years. They were the first company I worked for.
yes, the certification tests are a pain.........but it is good for new shoppers.
They pay like clockwork at the end of second month of shop......
..i.e. June shops pay is July 31st............so whether you do it the 1st of June or the 30th.....you get paid end of July.
They are reliable and I highly recommend them.

And as an addendum. They are one of the MSPs that doesn't tend to play games to shoppers' detriment. Their instructions are clear and straightforward and feel like a professional dealing with a professional. Of the by now hundreds of shops I have done with them I have had one clarification because a store contested a shop and my notes had extended descriptions of the folks in the store and the verbatim remarks I found inappropriate and of handwritten signage content. There was not space in the report for narrative to include this stuff but after the discussion on the phone with the editor I heard no more about it. There have been several times I have had my wrist lightly smacked because I entered a long receipt number reversing digits that they fixed and told me about.
I've done countless shops for Service Intelligence. The report forms are lengthy, but that's because the multiple choice answers are printed for you to circle. They pay on time, the schedulers are easy to work with and they respond to emails quickly, and best of all the reports are easy. The shops I do for them most often require a short narrative/shop overview report at the end, but that's all. It's usually to explain any negative answers in the report.

The certifications prepare you well for the client's needs, and the updates for the certifications are usually on small things.

Service Intelligence is a great company to work with. Hang in there, you'll be glad you did.
I have been working for Service Intelligence for about 3 months. I find them great. They are very easy to deal with and offer great gas incentives for long distance shops. The reports are much easier and straightforward with their yes no answers and short narrative at the end. More companies should be like this !!! Some companies their reports are so repetative and so long, sometimes I wonder if it is really worth it. Stick with them.
Is that the MSP that does an office supply store and an ice cream store (no client names, please, not allowed)?
Love them. They are very professional. Other MSP's can learn from their corteous and helpful staff.
Going to throw this question out to all of you. I'm new to SI. I took the office supply test, and all modules and exam are marked "completed." Some shop locations have a "subscribe" button. But the ones I want, don't , although they're marked "Active." I emailed them, but have no answer yet.
I haven't subscribed to any of their jobs. It may be that the locations marked "Active" already have shoppers subscribed.
I have found that you will only receive one of these office supply chain shops at a time. They have regular shoppers conducting them on a rotating basis. Keep looking because I get an offer every few weeks or so.
So the ones that don't have the "subscribe" button are not available? Then why are they on the "available" list?
sneakers, I have subscribed to 25 job with Si, and so far I did everyone of them, if you go "search for subscriptions", there show your name, address, city, zip code , State and the miles and the search radius, what you do is: clear you address, the city, leave the zip code and the State and change the search radius to 100, then click on search, sometimes you have to click twice, after that show a screen with all the shops in your state, there is the name of the cities and how many shops are for subscription, you click there and the page opens to the job that you can subscribe, when you do that shows active, then you wait for them to offer the job to you, SI sent a e-mail to you with the offers, you have 24 hours to take or decline, if you decline the job go the next person that is active for that shop.
If you go to "my subscriptions" you can see all the shops that are in your subscription list.
I hope that this helps.

Isabel
sneakers, if you go "find jobs" there is the list of the jobs in your State that are not subscription jobs, you are free to accept those jobs, you do not have to wait for SI to offer them to you.

Isabel
Thanks, ladies. Their site is confusing, but I'm getting the hang of it.

Izzy--do you really look at a 100-mile radius?
I usually do for our whole state and also two others. There are very seldom any shops for me to do that are within 60 miles. I do a lot of shops for SI but only when I can make up a long route. I never do less the 10 a day and also add other shops besides SI on the route.
Wow, you must live in a tiny state. NYS is 400 miles across. I've found that 3 or 4 reports per night is my absolute limit before I start getting cross-eyed.
sneakers, I look at the 100 miles radius because for 5 days each month my hubby and I visit Oceanside with our motorhome , the city is about 65 miles from my house, I take my laptop and I go to the library to do the reports, also on my motorhome I have a small printer and scan that I use to upload the receipts and pictures to the computer before I go to the library, also if I put 100 miles I can see more cities that are near to my home. I only take jobs close to home, but if we travel I look at job in other cities.
Nice cat!!

Isabel
Yes, Oceanside is in South California (San Diego area), very nice there, we go every month and then we don't want to go home, where I live it is too hot right now, like 117F. and in the ocean area is 72F,, so you can see the difference. I love over there, I will like to move, will see if we can do, possible next year.

Isabel
SI generally has a long assignment period so easy to use as fill-ins with the price of gas. Love the new ones where they actually want you to purchase $5 of gas. Hey better than none. Did 3 in less than 1 hour along with two other shops. Save on gas, got gas and oh yes don't forget lunch another hot dog.
No gas in NY, just fast food, ice cream and office supplies. sad smiley

I'm using them up rapidly since I started this thread, as there's a 10-shop limit per month.
If you can handle more than the 10 shops that they allow you, talk to someone at head office or a schedular. I asked for an increase to 25 shops and have had that for a couple of years. Now they phone me with last minute, urgent shops with hefty bonuses and gas allowance. If you give them your best work and be ready to send documentation if requested, they will rely on you and offer you good shops.
They used to do that here but now we have so many shoppers in the area that stuff gets grabbed off the board pretty much as fast as it gets posted. It is remarkable to watch a posting of about 700 shops across my state get decimated to 12 in under 2 hours.
I just completed my second job for them...It took me longer to pass the test than to go to the site and audit the practice. It was decent (not great, but okay) pay for pretty quick in and out and an easy report.

I wish they had more shops in my area. So far it's all bakery shops. I am eating just as much pastry as I can possibly handle now. Do they have many varieties of shops in your areas?
