Contact the Help Desk or your scheduler. They are usually accommodating. I am presuming you are referring to the Blue Portal.
I had one shop which was inaccessible due to construction and they rescheduled it. But normally, there is an area where you can actually reschedule it yourself. If not, then contact the Help Desk and explained your situation.
If you are referring to Purple Portal, I can't help you because a simple question could result in something else with the Help Desk or whatever.

They usually allow 1-2 reschedules and you can do it yourself through their web site. The 18th would need to be one of the days in the shop window period, though. If it is, then you are good to go. I think the only time that doesn't work is if after you scheduled the first shop, they put another shop in that same window period and it has already been filled for the date you want to reschedule to. When you click on "reschedule/cancel" it will give you a list of available dates you can reschedule it to.
I've also found most companies to be even more agreeable about date changes which involve doing the shop sooner.

Have rescheduled with MF several times. Haven't had a penalty that I'm aware of.
One of the things I like most about MF is that they will let you self-reschedule most of the time. I've only needed to do it a couple times but being able to sure helped ease a situation that arose unexpectedly. Better to reschedule than cancel.

i canceled a couple of times... no harm done... my area is not in hot contention though

If you drop it out of the sky and no plan to re-do it, then MF can be a real MF! 
MF will drop you/shops for no reason at all then reinstate you at their whim. That being said, I've cancelled and have had no issues.

You can only self-reschedule once. I've done it on several occasions without being deactivated by them.

I heard back from them, I had done it anyway. So long as I scheduled it within the original days for the job it was no big deal.
