Amusement Advantage?

Anyone here worked or is working for them? I have a shop coming up this weekend for them and it'll be my first for them.

Am a little concerned at the number of photos they require. I have a camera on my phone, but the flash is automatic and I can't turn it off, which is what they tell you to do. (I'll check to see if any of our other phones let you turn off the flash, but I don't think so.) I can see snapping a couple of pics of "the family" having an outing and being sure to get the food in the photo (cropping works wonders!). But it seems to me that if an employee spots you taking a lot of photos along with taking pains to engage several different employees throughout the facility, that you're going to be easy to identify as a shopper.

I learn something new every day, but not everyday!
I've learned to never trust spell-check or my phone's auto-fill feature.

Hi BirdyC,

I schedule for Amusement Advantage. We have many shops that require photos and we hardly ever have anyone identified. It depends on the facility. Most are large and won't even notice, as so many people come through. Also, most people have no problem posing their guests, so it looks like they're taking a picture of them, when they're really taking a picture of someone or something next to or behind them. Please email me at JSlyter@amusementadvantage.com with the facility name and perhaps I can offer more tips. :-)

Thanks,

Jen Slyter

Hi Jen, thanks for the note! I did find out how to turn off the flash on my phone camera, so that alleviates some of my concern....

I will e-mail you; thanks!

I have only performed one shop for them but it was fun even though I was working. I got my report in before the deadline and received a small bonus for doing so. They use Paypal and I got paid 22 days after performing the shop. Not bad in my book. And I believe that Jen was my scheduler. :-)

So why have I only performed one shop for them? Their shops usually require a block of time and with a FT job, that is hard. I would definitely work for them in the future.

AA is a great company. Instructions are clear and thorough. Staff is responsive. Never a problem with pay.

The AA shops are great. You do work for them though, and for a large facility it takes planning to cover all the item. My family loves it when they get to go to a cool amusement place and they want to help with the items to check. I was fortunate that the first time I did one it was slightly off season or I wouldn't have gotten everything done before closing, glad I got in at the "opening bell."
Thanks for the input, all! I think this will be fun and it's something the family and I do together anyway, so they will be with me and can help make observations! This shop isn't as involved as some I've seen posted for AA, so it "should" ease me into their system. Then I can take one of the really, really good ones that come up in a neighboring state! At least I hope! Not that this one isn't good, but they have some waterfront shops that I'm dying to do....

I think I would LOVE to do for them but I also work a part time job and the places shopped are a few hours from me......
