Looking for input about OnSource

After signing up with them two years ago they finally call me to go do a project taking photos for some insurance company. I've not had any experience with them and wonder what others' experience has been with them.

I do an occasional job for them. They are pretty good to work with. The reporting is easy, and the pay is really fast. They are easy to reach by phone, too. As with any company, make sure the agreed upon fee and mileage is stated in the confirmation email. Also, the company schedules the appointment for you, but I find it pays to call the client personally to confirm.
I tried to contact the client himself but my cellphone doesn't call foreign countries. Apparently the client still has a phone number from South America.

Am waiting to hear back from OnSource because the client never showed up.

If it's not too late, and the client doesn' t show, make sure to get a proof of visit photo. You should get a partial fee at least.
Make sure to follow up. I have had them not pay for several no-shows. I reported it and the Accounting Department fixed it. Pay is usually one month from the date that the report is approved.

I would have to figure out some shops or something to do in the area for the day once there, my round trip to the location was a little over 70 miles. Also wasted over 3.5 hours of time between travel and waiting for them. If they decide not to pay me then I will pursue it higher up the food chain then drop them like a hot potato.

That sounds like a plan. That is one of the drawbacks of working for them. If the other person doesn't show up, there's little you can do except to settle for a partial fee. I learned to always call the client before traveling out of town. Once I drove 40 miles, and then had to wait more than an hour while the guy's wife got off work and drove home. Turns out she works in my town, and I could have just met her at her job..
I have been working with them for the past year. They are very responsive and they pay quickly. I love them!
None of my jobs for them are over 5 miles. I've not had any no shows so no experience with that. The jobs are easy and takes about 20 minutes.

We live so far out in the country that five miles in any direction is woods and deer.

I find them to be good to work with. My biggest problem is the phone app is not always reliable when uploading the photos. I don't call the client but I have had them call me and I can't say that thrilled me.
So far my experiences have been almost all positive. It is one of the highest paying jobs given the time involved.

I agree with making sure the client is going to be there before you drive any distance, and there is the risk that they still don't show. Sometimes you are able to do most of the evaluation without them present if the vehicle is there, you just can't get the mileage and VIN from the door panel if the car is locked.

I would not take one of these jobs unless it was local or I planned to be in that location for other work - the fee just isn't worth a trip if it is more than 10 -15 miles one way.

The trick is getting the jobs when they alert you. By the time you receive an email it is probably too late (the jobs are snapped up within minutes) so make sure you are set up for text alerts. When I get one of those and it is nearby or somewhere I plan to be I just log in and immediately accept the job. Sometimes it is gone in less than 60 seconds from notification. I wish they would adjust that so the closest rep would at least have a 5 min window to accept the job, then let it go to everyone else.

Cooincidentally, after a few months of no work I just got a call today asking me to do a job that someone else crapped out on at the last moment, and as luck would have it (and this happens often with them for some reason) I also had to go to this area for another job on the same day that I really would have rather not as I had agreed to it without planning any other work around it.

So this last minute bonused job just doubled my profit for the day. Yay Onsource !

PS - I gave up on the APP after I figured out it took me 3x as long to do the job. Just take cell pics and then do the report via the website, either on your mobile or at home. Much quicker, plus you don't risk losing the images or uploading ones taken sideways (the app tends to rotate pics the wrong way).
From what I can tell, this isn;t ms'ing at all. shouldn't this be under general chat or another category. No mystery at all if you're calling people or they're calling you w/real names & phone #s.
I have only done a few shops with OnSource, but I find them easy to work with, the pay is decent, and they pay quickly. I agree with Boutique's comments about the app.
I have had a series of issues with OnSource. This is out of less than 20 assignments:

1) The app didn't work and all photos were lost.
2) The app wouldn't let me adjust the focus and I couldn't get non-blurry photosl
3) Twice the customer was not at the location when I arrived.
4) Twice the customer was at the location but informed me that they had a previous appointment scheduled and nobody showed up.
5) Twice the customer did not know I was coming.
6) Once I was given an address which did not exist.
7) I was promised pay for the original and the second visit for an assignment that had to be redone (for issues on their end, not mine) but only received pay for one visit.
8) Once an assignment was cancelled because an hour had passed from the assignment time and it was not submitted. (Their information says 4 hours to submit)

The pay is great, but they really need to get it together. Has anybody else had similar issues?
I dropped them like that hot potato, took me three months to get some kind of payment from them and then they sent me just $ 10 which wasn't even half the fee. They raised cain because the targeted meeting place was in a safer area and not the middle of the 'hood where someone was shot a few days before. I definitely didn't fit the demographic to be walking around there and I no longer run quite as fast as I once did.
