Personally I like BestMarks's assignments because they're easy to understand and execute. The directions are well written. But the reports kinda strike me as a pita for some reason. I don't know why I feel that way exactly. I think it's because there's usually several detailed questions on several different departments or steps to completing each assignment, and then there's naritive to "explain your answers" after every 3-10 questions.

It also almost always seems as though they're lumping 2 assignments together for each shop. The web/ call component has quite a lot of questions, and then of course there's the actual visit.

Same kinda thing on their electronic retail shops... Either an order online component, or detailed interactions with 2 departments... Basically strikes me as $14 for 2 assignments that are similar to the $9 cell phone shops other companies have.. With a little more naritive.

None of it is hard. I have never had a report rejected or questioned. But I think the pay is low for the amount of time and work put into it.
The Electronic shops are not bad, I enjoy performing those because their fast but can have a little tedious aspect. BM is a great teacher for new shoppers wanting to learn how to perform shops. The "car and sales visits" I got no idea what their like or how to long they take perform. Their not the $40 Lexus or $35 BMW nor $150 professional Porsche shops others do.

Will BM provide a bonus to put them in line with Lexus or BMW because their one-third the cash offered by other firms. I thought shoppers who might need extra cash or running short this month might consider BM's offer. Are Porsche shops video and audio and how long did your training take, I would like to perform one because I get offers all the time.
Don't like bestmarks car shops. The plus is no test drive the negative the tedius report. $17 no thank you.

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.
You think their reports are tedious and Seventeen bucks is low? Their emails say they are filling your pockets with green, like a Shamrock Shake from MCDs! Why do people feel BestMark is such a low paying company, how many people still shop for them or do you dump them once you do the other shops?

Per my conversation with a former scheduler - they find people willing to drive across town and spend 2 hours to do a $10 shop, so they let them. They have a huge database of people who have nothing to do with their days. So, they go out and shop for basically nothing, to keep from being bored. It's a hobby for them.

Bestmark has had some good shops over the years. The electronics shops and car shops are not them.
I think that Bestmark is an excellent company to start your mystery shopping career. They practically teach you how to write a narrative and they give very detailed instructions for their projects. I used to love it when they paid more frequently though. I will still take some shops with them, not the car shops or the electronics shops because that is just too much work for too little money.

Did BestMark ever pay higher because posts from almost ten years are repeating exactly what you said. Why not keep good shoppers who can write like pros instead of allowing your pool of talent to spill competitors grabbing luxury companies and brands? Why don't they share extra cash to keep shoppers like you, pay their top talent so they lock in agreements with better companies? BestMark has a good platform, they have the manpower to reach out to thousands of people every day. If they kept their best shoppers who can work for any company the benefit to each partner could allow them to branch out further while keeping negative feedback down.

I am guessing their attitude is if we can fill the shops paying peanuts why pay more. If they start to have trouble filling them then maybe they will raise their rates. Now if you own a certain brand of car their oil change shops seem to be worth it. They used to also pay lightning fast not sure if that has changed.

Those shops are slowing down, they are having problems finding people to perform their oil change with their Make. Some areas they offered $40 "drive pay", plus $40 Job plus $75 for the oil change and still those jobs just sit, why? BM recently reduced the pay on their Electronic Stores a little so they must feel confident people think pay should be going down instead of up like the rest of the United States. I met people who spend a half hour or more because their not fast like the Shoppers that decide their time is better spent pursuing companies that offer more money. My brain can't compute losing good shoppers because you want to pay them such low amounts they walk away after working with BM for years.

Unlike you, I don't concern myself with the MSC's business model, only my own. Service shops are often hard to fill simply because they require a specific make of vehicle. It's why I can always get my car serviced when needed and even sometimes get a bonus. And no, my service shops are not through Bestmark. I have used their car shops as fillers because unlike the higher paying shops, they never required a test drive so visit and report could be done in around 30 minutes. They also negotiate hard to fill locations.

Equal rights for others does not mean fewer rights for you. It's not pie.

Never try to teach a pig to sing. It's a waste of your time and it really annoys the pig.
The Best Mark Oil and Tire shops can be very well paying and very much worth it. The only downside is that you must have a [client brand name removed by mod] vechicle.

The 17 dollar car buying shops, however, are some of the worst in the industry. You will spend up to an hour at the lot sometimes, and the report will take a long time. If you like making less than minimum wage, this shop is for you! Also, many of the salesmen will play games with you and keep you waiting for a while. Its really tedious and not worth it. If you are dumb enough to take these shops without a significant bonus, DO NOT give them your real phone number. They will call and bother you for days, weeks, and months.

Mod note: It is against forum rules and an ICA violation to reveal the client (brand-name) with the MSC.
I did one shop pretending to want to purchase a luxury vehicle. I felt the report was agonizingly long, requiring a couple sentences (in a story-telling format) for every answer. I spent well over an hour filing the report. I don't feel the money was worth the time and effort.

precisely
for ME, don't care for the company OR their shops...when i first started out, they were ok for experience but dumped them shortly after I caught on
$17 for a car shop? OMG. Fugeddaboutit.

I learn something new every day, but not everyday!
I've learned to never trust spell-check or my phone's auto-fill feature.
Now think about it intellishop starts their car shops at $17 and requires a test drive. And we thought BestMark was bad. I will do neither.
