New company-for me

I just received a check from Omega Resource and do not remember what I did for them. I looked on internet but the only company I see is located in England. This is not a scam as it was posted in my bank and it is less than $50. I just cannot find any papers to match up with the amount. Does anyone recognize this company?

Are you in Michigan? A search for Omega Resource produced Omega Resource Solutions. Looks like a temp agency/headhunter [www.omega-peo.com]

Wish a stranger would deposit $50 in my account. Lots of strangers!
I recently had an strange electronic deposit for $35 from Giorgio Armani for an unknown reason. It's not my mystery shop account and the bank could not explain it. I put a freeze on my account to make sure funds could not be withdrawn electronically. You say your check is not a scam because the bank posted it. How long ago was that? It could be a bogus check and it will take several days before it bounces. Good luck.
I recently received a check for $96 from a company that I'd never heard of. After some digging, I figured out that it was for a market research study that involved several visits to a fast-food location, scheduled by Red Brick Scheduling. I sent my results to the scheduler in a spreadsheet she had provided, so I never knew the name of the company she was passing the information on to until they paid me.

Seems I have the opposite problem. I'm always looking for money that never comes smiling smiley

Alter_Ego's remark reminded me of when I did a research study and wasn't paid for it. It was for a non-profit, so I didn't bother to follow up about the payment. Well, 3 years later it showed up on this website. [www.unclaimed.org]

Has anybody else found money through their state's unclaimed funds? I have twice. And I've have found money for others. It's worth a look...

Thanks for the link, made a quick $50
Chris, I received a letter from an attorney stating I had unclaimed funds in the amount of $5,000. For a fee, they would get the funds for me.

I looked up the unclaimed funds websites for the states I had previously lived in. The state where I went to college was holding a paycheck from a temp agency I worked at after I graduated. It wasn't $5,000, but still a good amount. I did the paperwork and filed the claim myself.

Other states had smaller amounts from utility refunds, vacation pay, apartment deposits, etc. They were small, but they added up.

Yeah, don't pay someone to get them for you! After I became my brother's caretaker, I looked at unclaimed funds in this state and found he had never applied for a pension he is owed. Talked to the company, sent them my power of attorney, and voila! funds in his account that he really needed. Do it yourself, it's easy! - at least it is in Texas.

WoW. That's a nice windfall.

Pre-internet, some folks used to make money on the side by physically going through state records looking for unclaimed funds, finding the owner, offering to assist with the paperwork and asking for a percentage of the funds. In those days, payment was warranted, but not now.

So happy to hear this. Hope you have fun plans for extra cash.
