Positive words about Ellis

I was really, really scared to take a heavily bonused shop with this MSC after reading all the horror stories of rejected reports, non-payments, and general lack of communication in the last few months. I had stopped working for Ellis earlier in the year because I myself had to fight them for payment for a shop that I couldn't complete due to the complex having a major fire (they finally paid).

I couldn't resist the bonus, so I took the assignment. Right off the bat I had issues getting anyone on the phone (non-targeted). Guidelines forbid you from leaving a message. But the MSC wanted the shop done that day.

Here is where I was totally taken aback. The scheduler stepped in with communication. We were in constant communication, via email, as I worked through making the appointment with the agent (they really wanted the shop done yesterday). AND this morning I received an email from the editor that stated, "Thanks for the excellent report!" Wow! From what I've been reading lately, this is a paradigm shift for this MSC.

Edited to add: You can bet I saved that email just in case there are any payment issues though.

Thank you for sharing that!

I have had some quirks with EPMS, but overall, they are my favorite company for apartments.

SS, what were their issues in the past?

I have minor annoyances with them. They don't read the shop logs is my main one. But they are responsive, they pay on time, and they don't dissect my reports like the other apartment company does.

One issue in particular is the idea of calling and calling until by some miracle, the target answers the phone. A work schedule of the target has been provided or clarified, which makes things a whole lot easier than dialing for dollars or asking what time they close smiling smiley
Yes, SS4U, that makes life much easier.
This one shop I did for them recently, I reported that I had trouble reaching the target. They replied that "she" was working on a certain day and to call that day. No luck. I was finally given permission to ask for her by name.

"She" was a "he" and a maintenance worker. He was pissed that I was calling for him.

I got paid the nominal fee for the shop.

They don't send you a grading like other MSC. They either accept or reject

The report was the most redundant and exhaustive I have ever seen. It was very frustrating. I did it completely and on time, but not without some sass. Someone else said they're not so bad when you get used to them. We'll see, if I get the opportunity to do another one. I guess it will depend on whether their editors have a sense of humor or not.
