I have been a male mystery shopper for over 10 years and have done more shops than I can remember. Overall I have enjoyed the extra income and challenges. For the last 5 years I have been very selective in what shops I do and still end up doing a shop or two almost everyday plus working full time. My wife and I enjoy the perks of mystery shopping and long ago I quit taking the low paying, book writing shops. My philosophy on doing shops is that they don't hold a gun to my head to take them so if I find I don't like a particular company or type of shop I don't do it again. However, if I commit I will go out of my way to make sure it's done right and something I am proud of. Currently I do sporting events, restaurants and gas stations with a smithering of other shops that must pay $15 or more after expenses.
