mterry, it is customary for a rep from a mystery shopping company to create a permanent signature line which identifies them and their company. This avoids situations where a recommendation is being made by someone with a vested interest and a forum member mistaking them for a recommendation from an unbiased party.

I am also curious as to why you would suggest new shoppers use a site that requires a fee be paid? Most MSCs are adamant about telling new shoppers NOT to use a paid site. After all, any shopper or potential shopper who has found this forum has access to a long list of legitimate mystery shopping companies for free. I would not want them to think that subscribing to Shadow Shoppers would offer them any more advantages than they already have.

New shoppers do not need to sign up with any site that requires a fee. Use the list of companies on this forum and sign up with as many as possible. After a few months, you will compile the list of companies to check often and the list of companies that do not have shops in your area. Although it creates a lot of e-mail, I elect to get e-mail notifications of shops in my area. Sometimes a MSC will pick up a new client in my area.
