Shopping for Multiple Companies

Good Evening!
This is my first time posting, I have been shopping for about 3 months, and I like it a lot!
I have noticed through the 2 companies I currently shop for, that the same shops keep coming around over and over.
I went to JobSlinger and have seen several that I'd like to do, but I have a few questions, so I'm hoping you guys can help me!
Other than the need to keep everything separate, are there any downfalls of shopping for a lot of different companies?
When I find jobs through JobSlinger, do I have to sign up under the individual companies in order to get the posted shops?

I think that's it for now!
Thank you!

Hi, Erin, welcome to the forum! I haven't found a downside to shopping for multiple companies. I'm signed up with about 150 although I regularly shop for much less than that. Yes, if you find jobs posted on JobSlinger, you will need to go to the company's website and register with them, be accepted as their shopper, and apply for the job. JobSlinger posts a lot of jobs for a lot of companies but to accept a shop, get the detailed guidelines, complete it, submit the report, and get paid, you will need to register with the particular company itself.
What about for reporting and tax purposes? Is there a certain amount based on all of the companies? Or does each company have an amount you can make before reporting it?
Also, should I keep the money separated? Or just have one main account for mystery shopping money??
Thank you so much! I appreciate your help!
Erin, there is no amount you can make before you begin to report. You must report all earnings and pay taxes on them. You should keep track of how much you make in total and how much from each company. Regardless of how many companies you work for, and of how much money or how little you earn, every dollar you earn must be reported. You will be able to take a deductions for your expenses. We have to pay taxes on everything we earn. If we earn over a certain amount - IE. $600.00 from one company that company has to send us a form.
We have legitimate expenses to declare as well. eg. vehicle expenses, printer ink and paper, etc.

A separate account for mystery shopping would be a good idea. I don't have one because I want to avoid the fees, but I keep a record of my earnings and expenses.

A quick tax question: Is your cell phone bill considered an expense since you would use it for phone shops and even for checking store hours (like some of the guidelines say to do)?

Shopping across Indiana but mostly around Indianapolis.
Probably not if you have only one cell phone. Check with IRS.gov or your tax professional.
