A few noob questions!

Hi guys!

Sorry if the following questions have been done to death!

On the website I have recently joined, and on the assignment details it say's: Fee: | Reimbursement:. Could somebody please explain what the fee is? And how the whole thing works, for example one assignment is: Fee: 4:50 | Reimbursement 15:00.

Also would you recommend I use a camera phone rather than an actual digital camera for the required images such as receipts and photos at the location?

Thank you very much in advance!

The fee is the amount paid to the shopper for completing the shop and submitting the report. The reimbursement is money that the shopper is reimbursed for money spent performing the assignment. Both the fee and reimbursement are paid to the shopper if the shop guidelines are performed correctly and the report is accepted and forwarded to the client. I use a camera phone instead of a digital camera.
Donna, most jobs will have a fee and a reimbursement amount. If your report is accepted, you will be paid the fee plus a reimbursement of your expenses up to the specified reimbursement amount. On many shops, you will receive instructions limiting the selection of items which can be purchased for reimbursement. The receipt is used to verify the shop. If your report is not accepted, you will receive no payment at all.

I recommend the device that can get you a good clear image.

For receipts, I prefer a scanner because lighting issues are dealt with better. However, cameras can give fine results as well. If you use a camera for receipts, I suggest you shine a strong light on the receipt that is placed on a dark background while using a 6 megapixel or higher camera - then re-size the image (use software) as necessary to please that MSP (Read your guidelines).

Camera phone or actual digital camera for on-site photos? It used to be that guidelines required digital cameras because camera phones had an inadequate mp capacity. However, many of today's smart phones are more than up to the task. Check your guidelines to see if your smart phone works for that MSP and go with what works best for you and your MSP.
