hello from Virginia

I've been Mystery shopping for 11 years now and make good money by waiting for reimbusements to climb and not taking anything under $10.

I'm in the Mystery Shopper's Union but never bothered to get MSPA certification.

(Being in the union helps mostly for networking and helping keep commissions higher)

Mystery Shopper's Union? Don't know about it; maybe you could provide details - Mystery Shopper Discussion Forum would be a better place to post this info. Thank you.

Hey!

I'm back. Been doing so many jobs... making good money... until this week.

OK. Union. Haven't been to a meeting in a while,

There's no dues, but basically you sign a form promising a few things such as NEVER take a shop that has no compensation/commission. This is a big no, no. Why? Well, for one, if you start taking shops with no commission then the IRS will assume that the "free meal", or "free item" IS your compensaion and you will need to declare those things on your taxes for ALL shops. If you always earn a commission you can treat those "free items" as just part of the business practice. (For example, I am SO sick of pizza, BUT I love the $25 commission, I would (if ever audited) tell the IRS that I'm just "evaluatiing the pizza" and then throwing the rest away. I'm trying to earn a living, not earn a pizza.

Just got a call... gotta' go.

Hey it's another last minute job. They offered $7, I countered with $30, we settled on $20. (Remember, lots of shops are negotiable, especially if they are last minute shops!)

I'll try to come back later this week.
