Checkpoints

Cindy55 mentioned this on the Field Agent thread and I downloaded the app myself to check it out. It looked so promising, lots of stuff in stores all around me and stores I frequently service.

The closest Target was gone by the time I was headed out, and I was disappointed because they have free wifi. I checked my data before I left, so I would know how much it uses.

Ran errands at a drug store and grocery store, Found a few things to scan at each location, and they also ask you to answer surveys in between. Time consuming for no points. It also asks if you plan to purchase the product.

I had 130 points when I got home and had used less than 1 mb of data. You get a gift card for 340 points, so I am on my way to.......a $1 gift card?????

I think this is pure marketing - surveys and getting you to actually look at their products. However, I admit I probably won't be able to resist scanning a couple things if I'm in a store and have the time! You can also use your points to spin a slot machine game to earn more points. I gambled away 36 to win back 20.

I am doing this when I am in the store working anyway. It is great for the hour I have to spend in the drugstore anyway, so when my job takes 10 minutes and I have to be in store for 1 hour, I now have something to do to kill the time instead of wandering the aisles aimlessly. Not a great thing if you don't have to be somewhere anyway. I back out of all the ad crap, so I don't waste too much time.
That sounds perfect for you! And keeps you from being tempted to shop!

I'm checking out several other apps. Some make a little sense if you are doing a route and are only looking for a free clown burger in exchange for a quick mystery shop. I'm not a burger fan, so I will be checking out some of the other stuff. I know there is some kind of a free Starbucks item on one of them.

I spent about ten minutes in each store yesterday and still have a ways to go to earn my first $1. If I'm in a store and don't have a place to be next, I'll check it. If it paid like actual "work" (they really wanted to know if the store had their product on the shelf), I'd stick around and gladly put off stuff I needed to do around the house, but this does not outweigh that. It will fill the time between finishing work and heading to carpool, though, if there isn't time to get home and accomplish anything in between.

Also use shopkicks going in stores. And receipt hog and receipt pig. I have gotten paid from all of them. Not rich but gift cards for gifts.
Anyone doing Rewardable? If so, what the heck is the Store Captain assignment? You can only be a captain in one store, so I would want to pick the biggest one near me that would likely have the most assignments. I get all the RX filled there anyway.
I do that one too. I am a store captain but trust me it does not help your chances.
No more no less jobs....

I had checkpoints but it was just too slow to earn enough to cash out. I switched to Pricespotting which is much faster to earn cash.
I have this, gigwalk, a couple other similar apps. For some reason I just cannot seem to manage to remember to use them when I am actually out! It seems this one would pay off ok if used consistantly. Shooting for a gas card.
It is always the same the same products in my area, so it is really easy to find them now. Any store I'm in, it's like 'okay let's run by the Prilosec before we leave'!
