Acosta Always this cheap?

Recently I've managed to break the Mosaic/Acosta wall, Woo-Hoo!

Despite doing Merchandising for over 10 years, they seem hardlocked to offer me $13.00 an hour. News flash, I can get the same salary at a dozen other places, why work for them?tongue sticking out smiley

Coming from Acosta, that's pretty good pay. They usually start at $11 or less, regardless of experience. They do have a lot of clients, however.
Where I live Min. Wage is $11.25 an hour.

Reality is I have several other jobs/clients and $13.00 an hour when accounting for overhead is an insult.
There is a McCormick Rep for Acosta in my area that talks story with me, very rare for an Acosta employee here, no matter what team. He said he has worked for Acosta for 11 years and just transfered from California. He said he makes $11.50 an hour. If you are not a field manager, at least, $13.00 is high in this industry. Hard to pay the rent though!

For the public record I am in Canada, so I am paid in CND.

Reality is even a few years ago doing Cosmetic resets I was paid $15.00 an hour, plus mileage. Everyone wants experience, but seems like they don't want to pay for it.

As of January 1st, 2018 Min wage in Ontario is $14.00.

Makes $13.00 look like a joke.

It's true. These companies don't ask much when they hire, especially the larger companies.

I've taken the Starbucks assignments for $11.50 and I work according to how much I'm being paid. They get $11 an hour worth of work and that's it. If they want me to "sell-in" features and/or displays they have to pay for my selling skills. These are the times that I double dip heavily. I only take these when I know there is other work that can be done in the same stores.
I love cosmetic resets, absolutely love them; love, love, love them. I was doing them for Match Converge and was the main person in my area for a while. It came time to hire other people for the season and they hired this one lady that was doing work for Lawrence Merchandising. She'd been doing resets for bras, videos and candy, she said, so I thought with time she would be great. I was hopeful and very excited to have a mature person with experience working with me. Our very first assignment together was a reset of all cosmetic lines at a little Kmart in a very small town. You should have seen the look on her face when she walked into the cosmetic area, about an hour and a half late mind you. That was the first time she said "Oh gawwwwwwwwwwwwd" and I knew it wasn't going to be the last. In the 10 hours we were there that day, I counted approximately, and she said it 78 times. She never did show up to another cosmetic reset. She was one of about 36 people they had hired and had quit in that one year. I could do that Kmart reset myself in 12 hours.
Spicy, I did LOTS of cosmetic resets for Premium Retail services and Match Converge over a 7 year period, mainly in WMs and Ultas, and a few in Target. I, too, came to love them. I loved organizing all those small eyebrow pencils and putting in all the lipsticks in the right slots....crazy, huh?? But now I just do 95% IC work, and with Premium and Match, you're an employee, and therefore can't really pick and choose your assignments. I would have loved to have worked with you on that KMart reset!! We would have knocked it out in no time!!

Hey condom resets are the worst!

Condoms are what? 2 by 6 feet?

What I hate about cosmetic resets is its usually a mega project, there is a load of dead product, and usually the area is a disaster since its only serviced once every six months.
Try a condom reset. Not the size of the set it is the weight of that packages. Hard to keep an hand on to have them not go flying!
And make sure you get the EXACT variety in the right spot. Yes cosmetics has quantity but I don't consider cosmetics a challenge. Lipstick etc weighs more!
