Forum Messages "Greying Out" and font sizes shrinking!

I'm not sure if this is the right category to ask this, but why is it that in the last week or so, I notice that many of the messages I read previously are then a faded grey color when I go back in and continue reading on a particular topic??? Not all of the messages in that category are faded grey, but some are. And then some of the messages have had their fonts shrunk down to what looks like a size 6 or 8!! Can anyone tell me why this is happening??? Many thanks!!

What was it that Alice in wonderland ate that made her shrink or grow? Mushrooms?

I've faded to gray. Do you think it's all that coffee I drink? I heard it causes wrinkles but I don't know about gray. ???

Mary Davis Nowell. Based close to Fort Worth. Shopping Interstate 20 east and west, Interstate 35 north and south.
I drink alot of coffee, too...I have grays but I cover them with bottle blonde...I am pretty sure that gray hair is mostly genetic but I read somewhere that getting plenty of zinc in your diet can help not get as many.

Guysmom, sorry we hijacked your thread. Back to point, I have no idea what's up with some of the posts, but I didn't notice any shrinkage, just the faded font.

I tried to "copy/paste" an example of the shrinking font, but when I brought it over to this thread, it shows up in a normal font size! I tried "print screen", and making a .jpg file but I couldn't find any way of bringing my picture over to this thread. Is there an HTML code someone could PM me that shows me how to bring over a picture, I can show you how small the font looks like, because now I have a picture of it for comparison on my hard drive.

.....PS.....thanks for getting this over to the correct thread....wasn't sure where it belonged.

It was moved? I didn't know that...Jacob must have moved it? When I wrote about hijacking your thread I was referring to Wales, Mary, and myself going off on tangents.

Why not just post a link to the place where the post is that has the shrinkage you want to show?
Or look at the thread a couple of ones below this one - the one about being bullied on the forum. Who is the first poster that you see? When I look at it, mine is the first post. Originally it was someone else and I responded to their question. Eventually, the type kept getting smaller and smaller until the post was no longer there and now it looks like I started the thread

I think its [ img ] paste url of the image here [ /img ] <--------- no spaces between the brackets.

Were those originally fully adult cats that shrank to kittens on the forum?

@kimmiemae,
That's a great suggestion, but since the .jpg file I made of it is on my hard drive, I don't know how to give that a url.

SO...........I am following up on roflwofl's also excellent suggestion (WHY didn't I think of it???)

" Why not just post a link to the place where the post is that has the shrinkage you want to show? "

and am posting the link to the page showing the shrinking font............here is JUST ONE EXAMPLE of shrunken font..........SCROLL ABOUT 3/4 way down PAGE 1 to see it: (It's a post by Sybil2 made on May 18 at 10:30 am, if that helps:

I was expecting grey kittens...
I'm thinking Jacob found a way to implement his idea that he mentioned in this thread:

"Here's the solution I've thought about. It's not exactly a disagree button. But, it's a similar button. If enough people press the button, the post would become less visible. If even more people press the button, it might be hidden and referred to the moderators, and if even more people press the button, the post would be removed altogether. In addition, I could set it up so that this button would not be available to everyone, maybe just members that have been around a certain amount of time.

If I did this, I wouldn't be able to implement it right away. But I think it might help filter out the more offensive/combative posts. "

Anybody here on the Forum actually have access to a "Disagree" button in the threads???
The forum struck again

Oh no. Even the kittens aren't safe anymore. Thankfully I have a nice bottle of L'Oréal Excellence to combat any gray that comes my way.

Kim

Yes.
I would not call it or consider it a "disagree" button. A disagree button would be like a "like" button. Members names would be seen along with the post. In this case it is the opportunity for some members to anonymously and without justification influence the disappearance of other members posts. Since I have yet to see any firm guidelines on using the button, it can be used on spam, trolls, suspected trolls, members you have an irrational grudge against, posts that have gone off topic, humorous posts you don't find particularly funny, for revenge, and apparently to turn orange kittens to gray.

Equal rights for others does not mean fewer rights for you. It's not pie.
