IC PRO STATUS

Hi! I am starting to see a few ads for me to sign up for IC PRO status. Has anyone else done this? I have read a bit about it, but am not sure I understand what it is. Thanks.

I have IC Pro with Sassieshops. It means Independent Contractor Professional (IC PRO) Their definition says, IC PRO are generally the safest people for the company to use. The higher the rating the more likely the company can prove you are an Indepentent Contractor and not an employee. You usually have W-4 info on file that the HR Dept can access if required by the IRS. You can take additional steps to be certified also by giving your SS#/tax ID verification. That is up to you if you choose to do this. Not all MSP require this.
Many of us choose not to sign up with IC PRO because there is no discernible reason or benefit to providing our information to still one more on line entity. IC Pro does not create shopping jobs, schedule jobs or pay for jobs. Since they are not responsible for IRS reporting, there is no reason for them to have my SSN or a W-4. I do not work for them and in fact cannot work for them as they do not provide work for independent contractors.

When they first started there was a lot of fluff about signing up to 'show' that you were an experienced professional'. It would appear that primarily new shoppers have enrolled . . .
Very true Flash. I did that when I first started and Sassie was about the first I worked for. I had actually forgotten that info was there. It has not made any difference in my working - shops - pay - etc.I do very little for them now as I am in a different state and I do not see much here.
