URGENT: Help Needed on a Sunday Afternoon

Hi, all! I have a cell phone shop that needs to be performed today (Sunday) and I was not able to pass their quiz after three attempts. In fact, I did worse on the 2nd and 3rd attempts and I thoroughly reviewed all the guidelines. (And I usually ace all those tests!)

Now I am locked out from taking the quiz so I can't access the actual report. I called the MSC directly but I doubt they are open today. I did leave a voicemail for the scheduling manager. I have also sent an e-mail to my scheduler but not sure if that person will check their e-mail on a Sunday or not.

The cell phone store has shortened hours on Sundays (closing at 5pm) and I can not arrive within 30 minutes of closing time. It is now 3:40pm EST so I am not sure what to do. I am thinking that I should not attempt to perform this shop because I won't be able to access the report anyway. And there is a voicemail and e-mail out there documenting my dilemma.

Any recommendations?

P.S.
The location is about a 25-minute drive from where I live.

Call or email the scheduler and tell her what happened...she should reset the test and you'll be able to take it again, meanwhile, get an extension for the shop.

You have done what you can do at the moment. Hopefully this shop was not self-assigned or awarded long ago so that the scheduler can't be in a snit about it.
Thanks, Irene_L.A. I have already done both and I am just sitting here killing time on this forum waiting to see if someone responds in time for me to still perform this shop. Will this affect my rating with this MSC?

Flash ~ I was assigned this shop on Thursday, June 7th at 6:42pm but when I applied, I informed them that I was not available until Sunday, June 10th to perform it. (Thursday was my birthday and I was busy all weekend.)

This is not a company I work for very often. I think this is my 2nd or 3rd shop for them in the past 9 months. They usually seem to send me to cell phone locations that are closed so I only get a $3.00 closed store fee.

I'm glad you are not bothering to go. There is no "resetting" the test. It's 3 strikes and you are out for this "wave." The good news, you get to do it all over again next month. They are being even more aggravating with the freaking tests since moving over to Sassie. There is no way to see you even need to take a test unless you access the report. I've done 2 of those shops in the last 5 weeks (and had to test for each) and had a 3rd scheduled for Friday. I left the location to begin the report on my phone only to discover that it was showing I needed to take the test again! What made it worse, when I went into the section showing available tests it was as plain as day that I had already passed the one that was being required before I could enter the report. Leave it to them to take a relatively easy system like Sassie and jack it up.

Yes, I have not left my house to perform this shop. No one has responded to my voicemail and/or e-mail so I am not wasting the gas on the drive. Also, I have called the store several times today to confirm their hours (stated in the guidelines) and the phone just rings and rings or goes into a generic recording. It doesn't even confirm if this is a cell phone store or not.

I agree with LisaSTL about these annoying tests. It did not show on my shop log that I needed to take a test. Other possible tests are there but not the cell phone test. I was not aware that I had to take a test until this morning when I tried to access the report to review it prior to performing the shop.

THANKS to everyone who responded so quickly since it was a time sensitive situation. :-D

I would not take their shops unless there was no doubt in my mind the location existed and would be open. The $3 closed location fee is a flipping insult with gas at $3.49 a gallon. I just noticed today that a well-loved MSC has instituted a lower fee for closed locations. As far as I'm concerned it is totally bogus. If the client doesn't know the location no longer exists then we are still performing a service. As a rep at Gapbuster told me when assuring me I would be paid in full for one, "Of course, we are sure going to bill the client the full rate!" For all of the griping sometimes about CORI at least they pay the contract rate whether the location is open or closed!

Edited to add: HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For the life of me I am blanking out on the name of the MSC but I arrived at a closed/out of business retail store about two weeks ago. I took a digital photo of the new construction happening at the site and I called the MSC from the parking lot. They agreed to pay me the full $15.00 fee and thanked me for letting them know. Now that is how you keep a mystery shopper happy! :-)

Yes, Techman. Trendsource paid me $50 for a grocery store out in the boonies. When I arrived, I found it had burned down and a new building was under construction. This was a bonused job and I had taken two of these boonie groceries for $50 each. I was paid for both of them, Yea, TS!

I remember years ago I drove into Santa Monica for a furniture store that I had done many times....the store was boarded up (who knew), and a 60 mile trip resulted in full pay and an apology....you'd think the client would know if there store had closed.

Since I just got done reading the grammar thread, I can't help but say, "their store."
