What's the most you have ever been paid for a single shop?

Hi guys!
Just curious, what is the most you have ever been paid for one shop (not counting the ones that include reimbursement like hotel stays)? I am wondering where I should set my goals to know when I have hit the "jackpot" shop. I am sure most of the highest paying shops were ones with huge bonuses attached and very rare, but just thought it would be interesting to hear what you all have to say on the subject.

I'll play. I am sure the video shoppers have some pretty high numbers but for a regular (bonused) shop I once was paid $90.00 for a McDonald's. For a regular shop (and oh my gosh super easy but I think they were trying to catch someone stealing in the shop) I was paid $75.00. There were no questions on the form I just had to send in a pic of the receipt and the item I purchased. And that one paid the next day!

I am generally feeling good when a regular shop has a $25.00 price tag but I am good in the $15.00 range too especially when I can get a loop of shops.

And finally in the lower range I have done a route of $7.00 shops that took very little time yet I was able to get many done in one day.

This year, I've capped out at $35 for a bank shop.
I've passed up more lucrative shops in fear of time-consiming narrative.
Since reading the forums, I've learned to watch for bonuses.
Now, I notice the increases.
One particular shop has been on the board forever and has gone from 30 to 44.99 (.99 means you can choose your own due date).
I'd take it but the timeframe is 8-11am and it's a distance to drive.

Good question yawning smiley)

I have seen some amazing bonuses offered, but was not able to jump on them fast enough. Recently, a typical $17 phone shop had a $60 bonus attached! I was most bummed about the $150, yes $150, bonus for an oil change shop. That was at the end of December so I guess it was a desperate plea to get it done by year end. Maybe one day, I will be the lucky winner of one of those shops!!!
The ones that come to mind are Auto Body repair shops. I end up making $35 per shop once the bonus for cluster completion is finished. Nothing out of pocket (except for the gas) and usually they give you a week or two to finish them all so you have ample opportunity to plan route shops over a period of time. I love these! Very easy and informative for me. Usually they are pretty quick and it's quite a learning experience. I only wish my hubby's car was a few years newer and I could do some more.
$185 for a non-video apartment shop.

The scheduler told me that there had been 17 flakes in a row on this shop, and that the client was frantic.
So far my best was $45 for a $15 cell phone shop with a $30 bonus smiling smiley

Unless you're counting reimbursements... $30 reimbursed for food plus $20 fee would be my best then.

I hope I never burn out on mystery shopping, having soooooo much fun with this grinning smiley

I remember seeing those oil change ones at the end of last year! There were some pretty impressive numbers being thrown about!

Video $200 which I'm sure was the regular fee and $250 which may have had a bonus, but I'm not sure. Otherwise $100 was probably the most for a single shop without a bonus.

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
My highest is $750 fee (yes, that is fee only - not including reimbursement - however, it was a hotel shop - and you said don't include those?). However, hotel shops take a sigificant time committment. This particular hotel was a 3 night/4 day shop - plus getting to and from there. Plus writing the whole report. My hourly wage was much lower, even though the "fee" was quite high.

I think my best fee was $325 for a last minute check-in report. Literally all I had to do was go and check-in at a hotel and get luggage assistance. I could stay overnight if I wanted, or I could turn around and walk out after getting to the room and then call in the morning and say I vacated (which I did) - that literally took 1.5 hours (30 minutes to do the shop and an hour to write up). Better per hour wage than my day job, that's for sure!!
I just did a $50 last minute shop. The shop took me 10 minutes and so did the report. I wish I could get more like this!
$125 to play golf. $225 for 3 cell phone stores in the same afternoon. $100 to visit a world class musuem in Boston.
$250 for a 15 minute bank shop, $150 twice to open an account, both with easy reports. Recently had a chain of $60 bank inquiries. Kinda spoils you for the regular jobs, though, as these are most definitely not the norm!
Haven't seen any client names in this thread - is it ok to ask which MSCs have these kinds of shops? They're probably not in my area, but never hurts to ask, right?
Lisa, my guess is they are across the board. Big bonus shops can come from anywhere. I've completed shops for $50 to $100 for two notorious low-payers. That's just a matter of negotiating. Don't ever be afraid to ask. Just this week I asked for bonuses on two jobs and a week extension in order to be able to do another I wanted. I got one of the bonuses and the extension. Two out a three ain't badwinking smiley

Thanks for the Meat Loaf homage.
Missy,
Just remember that the video shoppers who are doing the high fee shops are by no means rookies and almost certainly have at least two full sets of equipments at over $400 per set, plus a travel computer. Beginning video shoppers may be getting $40-$60 shops, one or two at a time, using equipment supplied by the MSC which will then usually charge $10 per shop for using their equipment. In addition, the most active video shoppers must be available weekdays and ready to travel.

Wales,

True.

But I think that video shopping - and real-time shopping via geolinking and an iPad or other wi-fi tablet -are where the industry is heading.

Plus - I see $50 bonuses in my neck of the woods regularly for non-targeted video shops.

I'm fortunate to live in an area that is relatively affluent with a scarcity of mystery shoppers.
Missy,
I still do not understand whether or not you have your own video equipment. That will make all the difference wth the video shopping MSCs.

No matter what the bonus, all of the video MSCs will take the experienced shopper with own equipment first, even if they have to pay travel to bring them in. If you are seeing such nice bonuses and not getting the assignments, you must be doing very well, if you have your own equipment and experience.

Most experienced video shoppers have all of the equipment and skills that you mention, so what is new?

Video: $150 for a dental shop; would have been $200 if I had my own equipment, but I don't see enough video shops in my area to justify it.

Non-video: Two cell phone shops that are normally $17 each but I requested and received $105 each due to distance and short notice.

Go ahead, ask me to violate an ICA. I won't do it, and the MSCs that read the board will know not to hire you, since you can't be trusted.
"If you are seeing such nice bonuses and not getting the assignments, you must be doing very well, if you have your own equipment and experience."

huh?

I simply mentioned that I have seen video shops bonused at $50 and up in my area. And that it's tempting to start doing them, both for the money and for the fun and challenge of using cutting-edge technology.

I don't know where you went from Point A to Point D with my statements.

I'm not at all an experienced *video* shopper. But I have a pretty solid 18 months of getting some fairly tricky non-video assignments done quickly. And over 1200 completed shops to date.

Life is too short and precious, Wales, to waste even a picosecond of it on negativity. I feel quite a bit coming from your last post.

I like (no, love) doing this type of work. It has helped me get back on my feet, put shoes on and get out the door every morning after a very horrible personal experience a few years ago.

So, excuse me if I don't engage you. I'm still happy at the thought of my day today, which involved 250 miles of driving twisty, gorgeous mountain roads and meeting nice people everywhere I stopped. And I have a buttload of reports to write.

Peace.

Not my most, but did put a smile on my face. I was called (1st with this MSC)
and asked if I could do a job in my town (4 miles) that was rejected, and had to be done next day...$7.00 job/10 food reimbursement, and a 10 bonus, so for me doing and knowing this job brought in 27.00 for under an hour and no driving, love when that happens. Most was 150.00 + 200 for Vegas job this year.

Live consciously....
My best route was over 1000 in a day with several heavily bonused shops. A month doesn't go by where a couple will ask me to do several shops with a bonus that puts them over the $100 mark.
