I shopped the wrong location =(

Ugh . . .I was scheduled for a children's boutique today and shopped the wrong mall location. I didn't realize it until I had finished the survey - and then realized I went to the wrong mall. I emailed the scheduler and told her that I must have been having an off day and I would do the real location tomorrow . . . but not I need to also return what I purchased today . . .I can't believe I did that!

Oops. I guess it happens to all of us at least once. sad smiley
yup, two Home Depots on the same road about 8 miles apart. I went to the wrong one. sad smiley
Same thing happened to me two weeks ago. I shopped the wrong location of an office supply store that has two locations on the same street but several blocks apart. So I had to travel another hour and a half a few days later to do a re-shop. I used the experience as a lesson to double check shop addresses on a map before doing my visits.
I thing everyone has done that at least once. Mine was a CVS drug store. I didn't look it up because I passed "that store" on my way to work every day. It was after the MSC got the report and sent me a message that I submitted the wrong receipt did I find out there was another CVS at the OTHER end of the street.
I did it too. I had put the address for a gas station into my GPS and out here in rural MO there's a lot of both county and state roads with names like "RB" and "N" and I didn't realize the GPS read the address wrong and happened to take me near the same brand. I didn't have a list of all the addresses with me and I didn't check with the employee - now I know to print that list and double check!
Just did that a couple of months ago myself. There is a certain restaurant one five minutes away from me, and one that is 10 minutes away from me. I accidentally wen toi the one that was ten minutes away instead of five, so I had to do that re-shop.

One time I went to a certain FF location, did the two required shops (restaurant and drive thru), got home and realized that I went to the wrong location. So I had enough time to zip out and go to the correct location and do both shops in time. Well after that I had enough of that food to last me three weeks. lol
I have not shopped the wrong location...yet. However, 2 weeks ago, I went to a bank that I shop all the time. I performed a teller shop when it should have been a sales shop. I caught the mistake around 10pm that night when I went to fill out the report. I was just beside myself. I had to email my scheduler and tell her that I must have lost my mind. I shop many different branches of this bank each month, in several different cities. I mostly do teller shops because there is a 90 day rotation on sales shops. The thing is, I KNEW I was supposed to be doing a sales shop when I left the house. I had rehearsed my scenario in my head and everything but for some reason, I walked straight into the bank, made a deposit and shopped the teller!
Good morning everyone!

This is my first post on this forum. I am new to the MS field and I think that I may have entered the wrong information on an internet inquiry shop. I tried calling the company but only got the voice mail and I don't want to say what happened on the voice mail. I feel sick about this and I really hope that they don't deactivate me because of it.

Hi Pammie and welcome to the forum! Don't stress over it, it is not worth getting sick over. I highly doubt you will be deactivated. The shop could be invalidated and you won't get paid or if it has not been sent to the client yet, they may let you correct it. Without knowing who the company is, it is hard to give you advice since each company is different. If you know who your scheduler is, it is best to send an email now and then call Monday morning. Most companies are not open on weekends. If you did the shop for BestMark, their help desk is open for a couple of hours each weekend morning and you need to send them an email at weekendemergencies@bestmark.com today so they will get it in the morning. Hope this helps a little!
I did that with two banks that are only 3 blocks apart. The scheduler comiserated and then looked to see if she had a pending shop at the location that I had mistakenly shopped. Had that shopper not already done the assignment, the scheduler was going to switch the assignments so that mine would have been accepted. Although that did not work out, it told me volumes about that scheduler, and perhaps that MSC. Everyone is going to make this mistake at least once!

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
So I finally got a hold of the scheduler and she told me that if I could do the correct location and submit them both by Wed, then I would get paid for both! She thanked me for doing the wrong location bc now she doesn't have to post my original location that I actually shopped. Yippee! (and I now get two adorable boutique dresses for my 2 yr old!)
I did that once years ago. Got off the highway, turn left. about a mile was Applebees. But I was supposed to get off the highway and turn right. about a mile was another Applebees. did not get paid. )-:
I did that last year. I saw a shop in Marion and thought I would snap that up. So I went to Marion, NC and did the shop. Turns out the shop was actually for Marion, TN. Coincidentally there were the same shop at both locations. That MSC have given me very little work since then.

I had a shop for some city in Sc (or so I thought) and turns out it was similar name in NC! Guess what I did? I went there anyway. (too afraid to cancel) so I picked up 3 banks on the way up there so 4 shops on one routesmiling smiley
I did that as well, same bank, same town, same street name. Why did I shop the one with the meters and not the parking lot is beyond my understanding! The dark and creepy one yet!Bummer, had to re-shop but ever since, I note the complete street address in my date book.
Been there wasn't fun, sorry it happened to you as well

I shopped a Five Guys too ealry. I so did not get paid. Dont stress it. It happens.
Just please be aware that most schedulers do not want to have to find another shopper. Not because they love you, but because it is much easier for them and the time line if you go back and redo. Happens to everyone. Trust me on this.
Thankfully, since I'm perfect, this has and never will happen to me ::cough cough:: load o'$*#! ::cough! I wish!

Actually, I've had my oopsies (wrong cell phone provider, wrong day). I tried not to beat myself up about it and to learn from it, but I admit it wasn't my proudest moments (thinking about them still makes my stomach go ugh)

On the other hand, I've been given the wrong address, wrong business hours and a few other discrepancies from the MSC.

Guess it proves we're all human, after all smiling smiley I'm sure glad to hear I'm not the only one.

Last week I had two shops for the same company at two locations in the same neighborhood. One was in a mall, one is on the street. I visited the correct location at the right time, but input my data into the wrong report and submitted. That took some explaining to fix! But it all got fixed.

Shopping Oakland, Berkeley, San Francisco, and surrounding cities.
I once shopped the wrong location of a cell phone company that had stores within a few blocks of each other. I did not notice until after I had submitted my report. When I informed the scheduler and offered to go to the correct location she did not want me to do that and dropped me as a shopper! I had been shopping with this company for years and had an excellent reputation with them before this mistake. I thought dropping me was an extreme reaction.
I shopped a Matress Giant instead of Matress Firm. We all make mistakes!!!!
I love my small town, it sucks that I don't have a lot of places to shop, but it's nearly impossible to shop the wrong location when you only have one of everything. As long as I'm in the right town and it's not fast food or a gas station, I'm in the right location. Although, I did see an offer for one of those Sony shops and the address to the place was wrong. I almost didn't notice it, why bother looking at an address when you know exactly where Wal-Mart is. The address was the old Wal-Mart though.

I feel better knowing I'm not the only one. I shopped Office Max instead of Staples. Luckily I did it early in the day and was able to still go do Staples
When I was new to this and got one of my first upscale dining shops, I found what I thought that was the Website of the restaurant I had been assigned. I called the phone number I found online, made the reservation, etc. When I showed up to the restaurant several days later, there was no reservation to be found. Seems I had made a reservation for a restaurant that so happened to have the same name (no affiliation, though) several hundred miles away!

Fortunately, the restaurant was able to accommodate my guest and me that night. I conducted the dinner evaluation and explained the whole thing to my scheduler. With the approval of the client, we were able to organize a reservation call (to be cancelled later) to the actual restaurant, and that call was reported on the evaluation. I still shop for that company, too!
