Missing audio on a video shop

I posted this on VSN as well. I had four shops on Monday. On the first, third and fourth everything is fine. The video is present on the second, but no audio. What's boggling my mind is how it is the one in the middle. Anyone know of there is going to be a way to recover it and any ideas on what may have happened? I'd rather not have a repeat performance.

That happened to me on one shop. I can't offer any advice but I can commiserate. I do have a rubber band wrapped around the camera connector on the DVR now, and haven't had a problem since.
Since started doing the rubber band around the camera connector, I also have had no more problems. I nearly botched my first shop with a company because of the same problem you had. Have you tried watching it on your computer, putting the sound to ear buds and turning up the volume as high as possible? When I did that, I could hear the video even though it was muffled. Luckily the MSC's equipment could do some sort of magic to draw out the volume a little more and the company took it. Let me know if it works for you. You could also explain your situation to your scheduler, ask if you could upload the video, and see if their editing equipment could extract the volume.
I have always used electrical tape to secore the camera plug to the unit. If it wiggles loose or has any sort of bad connection you will lose sound first. Also, try using a back-up cam it you have one and send the problem cam to be rewired. [www.mccalltech.net] Over the years Dave has rewired several cams for me.

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
Everything was exactly the same for every shop. If it was a connection it would have carried over. I already tried the volume as high as possible and this company doesn't seem to have the capability to do anything more with the video than I do.

The good news is, it is my regular monthly route and the company will talk to the client to see if it can be accepted. As luck would have it, the shop was bad and the video really shows it all since the attitude was not conveyed verbally. The employee was kind enough to show his boredom and utter lack of respect in his body language, including stopping to pick at his nails while I was ordering, LOL!

wales, thanks for the contact. It is actually my only camera. My first step will be to use it on some traditional shops and see if the issue comes up again. This is the SD card I've been using a lot this summer, so heat may have finally caused a failure. If it has to be sent off maybe I can schedule it during some down time.
