grocery shop question?

I'm doing my first grocery shop tomorrow, and I was wondering - what is the general policy towards reimbursement if a gift card is part of the purchase? Say it's a $5 reimbursement, and I buy a store card and put $5 on it, and buy $3 more of grocery items. Do MSCs frown on this? Will I only get reimbursed $3?

Not a big deal to me, it's only a few bucks, but I was just curious?

I am not aware of any grocery shop that allows purchase of a gift card as part of the required purchase/reimbursement. Read your guidelines thoroughly to see if it is okay.
I did a grocery store for yrs.. chain... I was not allowed to buy g. c.'s.. stick with just eggs and milk, stuff you need or normally don't have money for.. I did one today and I bought stuff normally that is too $$$$ for all the time.. stuff like clam juice and capers and fancy stuff we like.
If it's the same chain that I do my grocery MS at, you have to purchase half a pound (minimum) of sliced deli meat or cheese. This is at least $4. Occasionally some stores carry deli bologna which is "only" 6 or 7 dollars a pound. so maybe $3 in deli purchase. I've never tried buying gift cards. There is ALWAYS something I need from the store that I can spend at least $5 on.
Which grocery store are you shopping? I do shops for 4 different grocery clients. None allows the purchase of a gift card.
To be safe peasantgirl stay away from the gift cards. The number that allow it are super rare.
