I don't even read anything that starts at less than $10. It's not worth my time.
You need to read the guidelines, go at a specific time, order within the guidelines and then write a report. I suppose it's a fine deal if you have nothing better to do or if you see this as a hobby. You aren't going to make any money doing $8 shops.
There is a reimbursement only (very large company) that generally offers no "fee" and then a "bonus" of $5 to $10 at the end of the month. The problem is that by the end of the month, I am getting $75 (up from $50) to do the same types of shops. I'm not sure when I will ever do their dining shops again.
I eat at this store without a shop so it's a bonus for me to eat there with a shop. My meal normally runs $9.xx with tax and I only get a bowl and an ice water. Chips and salsa are free. The shop is very easy and the guidelines are pretty open. You can go anytime they are open on the day that you are assigned. You just have to order an entree, which isn't difficult. No drink is required. You have to get the chips but they are free. There are two picture requirements - salsa bar and trash can. I feel odd taking these but oh well. I just pretend that I'm texting. The report is super easy. You only have to write anything if there is a "no." At the end, they want a wrap-up of at least 3 sentences - not a full narrative. They are some of my easiest shops to do and I get dinner out of it and few extra bucks.
It kind of annoys me that the only reimburse 8.00 when that doesn't sound like it's gonna cover the "entree", let alone a drink. I will do this one because i love their salads, but may rethink anymore...thanks you guys
Is it possible to do this shop and stay under the reimbursement limit? Like the OP, this has kept me from doing it. I don't do restaurants when the food reimbursement doesn't cover required purchases.
It is possible to stay under the reimbursement if your location "celebrates" Moe's Monday. On Moe's Monday, you can get any size with a free drink for 6.99 in Tax-Free Delaware. In Pennsylvania, it would cost me another $0.50 for sales tax, which would still be under the $8 reimbursement. On any other day of the week, it costs more than $8 if you want to have a drink while you sit and eat (only dine-in is permitted).

Shopping Southeast Pennsylvania, Delaware above the canal, and South Jersey since 2008

Good to know, I'll look into that.
I didn't even get a drink OR anything extra on my salad and it was over $8.00......grrr
