Shoe Purchase and Return - Reduced again!

I did this shop for the old company at $18 and thought it was a little underpaid for two interactions and a $200 charge on my debit card that took several days to go away.

Then, the fee was reduced to $14. I had a good chuckle and waited to see if it was bonused, but it was taken at $14.

Now, the shop is with the new company and they just posted at $10.

Anyone who is thinking of taking this, please be advised of the work involved. I, personally, don't think it is worth $18, much less $10.

I am new to mystery shopping and just saw this job pop up. I was thinking the same thing, 2 visits for $10? No thanks! I figure it will sit there until the due date and maybe if they add on a good bonus I might consider it as there are other shops I can do in the same mall.

One question, do they give you a hard time during the return if it is only any hour later??
I will not do this for $10 in as much as it involves going to the store twice. The first visit has usually taken at least 15 minutes, sometimes more depending upon traffic in the store, the salesperson, etc. The second visit is fast if there is no one else in the store. $14 was at best marginal for a store that I knew I would be passing twice in the same door. I will wait for a bonus.

Do you have to use a card? I was thinking if I did a purchase/return I would use cash.

That is too low though for sure.

One reason I have used for doing a quick return is that so many clothes are made in third world countries with slave labor wages. I have sometimes given the reason for returning an item as discomfort with where the item was made. That usually gets me on my way quickly as honestly, who knows how to respond to that answer?
I actually tried the shop back when it was $18. The store was conveniently located near a mall entrance so it could be my first and last stop when bundled with a few others. Even at $18 the tedious report had me regretting the decision. No way in bloody hell would I even read the email for $10. The previous MSC is also one of the most picky with reports so it did not help the shop appears to have gone to the other nitpicky MSC.

Yes a purchase/return shop means you have to return them. You wouldn't be able to answer the questions about the return if you didn't return them.

You can buy two pairs and return one of them, but you have to complete a return (and not an exchange).

That's a good idea...but chances are no one's going to do this shop at the ridiculously low fee.

Ive done shoe shops called purchase & return but in guidelines it says return is optional but if you keep shoes its at your cost.
I have never seen one of them, but I am not doubting that they exist. The only ones I have done have required a return.

Ive done shoe, clothing, jewelry & makeup shops with optional return. If its stuff i would buy anyway. its less $ out of my real pocket.

I didn't even do it at $18. Two part shops should pay at least $25.

100% agree. I don't even read anything for purchase and return if the fee is less than $25.
For this one, you have to have the "return" interaction because there are certain actions the associate has to take. It is appropriate to buy multiple pairs of shoes if you want and only return one.
Some shoppers are taking these jobs. They are self assigned and I was amazed at the number of shops that had been picked up. I hope they enjoy writing the extensive reports.
