AFAIK, they are permanent unless the MSC agrees to remove it for you. Then there is always the possibility they would hide it from you while keeping it on your permanent record. Is it impacting your ability to get shops with the MSC? I ask because I have one from 2009. I still get virtually all the shops I want from the company and get high grades. Since it isn't having a negative impact at this point, I just let it go.
