The instructions say--->"even if you have a SP device, you will need to check if the site has one of their own." Just remember your receipt. Plus, you will need to check 2 pumps for SP functionality. Let the second one time out. Also, the instruction does seem to encourage you to use your device "if you have one". It is tied to your CC info anyway. A far as inside purchase, you are on your own for $1 (unless you want to spend more)@Hoju wrote:
Is it acceptable to pay for your gas using a Speedpass or is a credit/debit/gift card a requirement? I've never tried it before but it seems like a nice safe way to pay without having to buy a gift card or have your CC compromised.
While we're at it, how about the inside purchase?

Hi, I just did one yesterday. Per the instructions, you are allowed to use the Speedpass to pay. However, this will cause your credit card to be charged so if you do multiple of these in 24 hours, it will cause the same card to be processed each time which can trigger fraud alerts. Because of this, I usually rotate cards to pay if doing more than one station. It is best to have the device though to test the pumps (the stores are supposed to have test devices but never do).
That does not work. It is the actual gas company that is declining the multiple, low charges not your bank. I have addressed this issue several times with the multiple banks I do business with.@jay225 wrote:
you can just call your credit card company and let them know what you're doing. then you won't get declined anymore.
I use my Speedpass at the pump and inside the store if that gas station has the capability. And I still earn reward points on my credit card that is attached to the Speedpass.@Hoju wrote:
