One More USPS Shop Question

The "Q3 MicroShops - WTIL & Lobby Asst & Interior Appearance, CX" instructions say that:

"As proof of visit, please buy a utility mailer or ReadyPost packaging tape (found in the lobby) and/or if those items aren’t available in the lobby, please make a stamp purchase with the max reimbursement being $5 for the shop."

Pay Rate: $5.00

So if USPS tape costs $3.49, can I buy three additional forever stamps at $0.47 within the reimbursement....

$0.47 + $0.47 + $0.47 + $3.49 = $4.90 < $5.00

... under this interpretation of the instructions: "As proof of visit, please buy ... ReadyPost packaging tape (found in the lobby) and ... a stamp purchase with the max reimbursement being $5 for the shop" if the items are (not) available in the lobby?

Generally a reimbursement is to cover a single item as proof of visit. I can understand that you want to interpret the 'and/or' before what I have left of the instructions as allowing multiple items to meet the maximum reimbursement, but I suspect only the tape would be allowed.

I read this to mean you are NOT allowed to purchase stamps unless the tape or utility mailer are unavailable. Personally, I would prefer the stamps(something I could actually use) over the tape or mailer(I currently have 22 rolls of tape I bought from amazon for my ebay selling). Plus, I think it would look strange and possibly out me if I stood in line at the post office only to buy some tape?
I agree about buying stamps only if the mailers/ tape aren't available. I picked one of these jobs up just for the tape since I go through quite a bit of it on my other usps jobs. From my observations, buying a mailer or tape alone isn't that unusual where I live.
I see people buying just boxes, mailers, or tape all the time. Nothing is unusual about that.

Shopping Southeast Pennsylvania, Delaware above the canal, and South Jersey since 2008
Well, mailers were available, but not tape at the one I did today. I didn't want a mailer, so I bought stamps. We'll see what happens. I'm not really expecting it to be a problem. It is just for the proof of visit after all.

I purchased 4 of the same utility mailers at 1.19 each keeping me just under 5.00 but with four items and mine has gone to Ok to Pay. I find this shop worth it for the purchases I can make along with the small fee. If I was only being paid for one utility mailer I don't think it would be worth it.

Did that go through? It might be worth it if an additional $5 in stamps was included.

Now scheduling travel shops for the day after Christmas through mid-January.
I bought a $3.49 tape and three $0.47 stamps. My assignment says OK for Pay.

In the same vein, I have not seen a Hazmat shop in my neighborhood this go round but when I last looked at the instructions I could no longer find the statement saying the reimbursement was up to $10 for that shop. Does anyone know if that max is still allowable for that shop?
I get the impression the company is wording these reimbursement statements so it looks like we will only get reimbursed for one relatively cheap item but in my experience they have been reimbursing up to the max. I have not done any microshops so my experience is for hazmat only.

The last hazmat shop I did (which was in July), I got a full sheet of stamps for $9.40.
