Wireless "Retail Audit"

I'm doing a wireless kiosk shop where I have to request information about a smartphone upgrade or adding a second line. No big deal, I've done wireless shops in the past but it's been a while. Well I'm reading through the guideline and I'm overwhelmed by the amount of information I need to collect during the shop. The shop requires multiple photos of displays at the kiosk, I need to count the number of working phones vs dummy phones per carrier, then I need to attempt to log onto a website on the working phones to see if it is connected to the internet. I feel like it is going to be quite difficult to do all of this without being obvious that I'm a shopper. A regular customer usually isn't going to play with every single phone on display. If it weren't at a small kiosk with probably only one employee I wouldn't be as nervous about it, I just think it will end up attracting a lot of unnecessary attention. This is one of those shops I really wish I hadn't accepted!

Is this in a big box store? If so, it's easier than you think. There were two employees, so I had one to myself I had free reign to take pictures and play with the phones and tablets.

If it is a kiosk in the center of the mall, you may have very little to report on. They usually have no real phones out as they get stolen as they usually have one employee and they have to leave the kiosk to go to the restroom. Beware of multiple kiosks for the same carrier in a mall and make certain of the company name by looking for a framed license by the register with the store permit.

I think I know which MSC offered the shop. It rhymes with Glare. After I was assigned the shop, I too looked at the instructions. I was concerned about taking the photos of the dummy smartphone displays, counting how many there were without drawing suspicion or remembering how many were on display. I emailed the scheduler and stated my reason to bow out. I did that a few days in advance so the scheduler would not be up the creek. She removed it from my shop log.
Yep, I'm with catgranny. I signed up for an audit of this wireless company with the same MSC. Looked at the instructions and hit the print button on my laptop before I realized it was 39 PAGES OF INSTRUCTIONS AND REQUIREMENTS. Emailed and said no thanks. What a waste of paper and ink in the printer!
The kiosk was at a military installation. I completed it last night and it ended up not being as bad as I anticipated. There were only 3 working phones on the whole display so that made it easy. I was unable to get a picture of one side of the kiosk because there was just never an opportunity so hopefully the shop will still be accepted.

I felt the same way, however I took lots of photos and that help immensely with being able to recount all the phones in each carrier section, which were dummies, etc. I also found the majority of the kiosk I shopped had dummy phones. Only a few turned on. I was very relieved that it went as smoothly as it did, it look very overwhelming at first and then I was pleasantly surprised.
