Mystery Shopping

Hi Jacob, I have carried out many shops and for many companies, they all seem pleased with my reports as they ring me to carry out more shops! The company that I feel are quite mean is Gapbusters as they won't pay for your travel costs so I try to mingle them in with the ones that do but I still think that it,s not fair! I have been mystery shopping for almost a year now. Sometimes I love it and some times I find it a bit of a bind, but winter is coming so I think it will keep me busy in those cold horrible days!!! Thankyou for sending me all the info it has given me the oppertunity to work for 5 shopper companies! I could sign for more but I think that is enough at the mo to keep me going!!! Bye for now and thanks again. Warm regards Joan

There are alot of companies that are rude or nasty Joan Gapbuster is one of the top ones they told me I was a illeterate moron who cold not spell and grammer and other rude comments in a email to me about one of there automated rejection notices, So I was bored that week and now really pissed off so I sent about 15 differnt emails up and down the chain at the company and well what do you know I now work for gapbuster wow im so unexcited they make you take the goofy tests and other over the top stuff about there shops like timeing etc, just a fun company.

Another one to watch out for is TrendSource I did a blockbuster shop for them
and because it was a minute or two off they wanted it redone I emailed One guy that I had a email address for and politely asked him to help and if I had to reshop were they going to pay me twice for the movies and boy were they rude and docked me 20% off the shop a crappy companie
HI,
I AM DAPHENE PARNELL AND I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHERE TO GO TO GET STARTED WITH THE MYSTERY SHOPPER. I HAVE HAD A LOT OF E-MAILS FROM JACOB TELLING ME THERE WERE JOBS IN MY AREA, BUT I DON'T KNOW WHERE TO REGISTER FOR IT.
THANKS
hi, IM NEW AN JUST GETTING STARTED. MY HUSBAND HAD SURGEY SO I GOT SLOWED DOWN. BUT I CANT WAIT TO GET STARTED.
Hi, I just wanted to touch base and add just a few comments about mystery shopping, first of all Jacob is my hero just read what he has to say and go with it he will put you in the right direction. I also would like to ask Joan,
the first person to send in a comment about Gapbuster not paying for her travel cost please I would like to know what companies do pay for her travel, I work for so many of them and I don't know of any one that will pay your travel cost so please enlighten me on this and give me the name of the company, I really would like to work for them. I also want to say that Gapbuster has been great to me I have never had a problem with them, matter of fact I have an assignment to do today for them and one on Wednesday. Also Ipettis when you get started please do not use all caps in your reports they will not accept your report and will not pay you, you will have to use good grammer and your spelling has to be perfect get a dictionary if you have to, make that report a success and you will get all the assignments you want and some that you don't won't. Parnell I will tell you where to go to get the companies you can sign up for, You should have gone to the site that Jacob referred you to, but try www.mysteryshop.com or
www.sassie shop .com there will be some shops that you can register with and this will help you get started, I wish you luck and hope you have the same success that I have had and please read Jacobs emails he knows what he is talking about and you will be successful if you just apply yourself and don't give up.Good kuck to you and everyone that would like to be a success in the mystery shopping industry.
I receive a lot of teasers for shops but because I am not a Silver or Gold member I don't get the details on where or how to shop I am a bronze member which is free but the others you have to pay for. (NO DEAL).
I'm a new memeber and based in Bloomfield Hills Michigan.

Can someone tell me how I get started in my area as a Mystery Shopper?

Thanks

David

i also do shops for another company
I just started and now I am going to register with all those companies so I can get more. Thats how you get started, everyone who asked

I would think grammar and spelling are going to be really important. Its so annoying and time consuming to try to read something where the grammar is bad and most all of the words are misspelled. I would say to go slow, re read what you just wrote and use a dictionery
I want to mystery shop but can't seem to register. When I submit it tells me there is an error. I have lots of retail eperience and merchandising experience as well.

To Mark.

I do U.S. Post Office shops for a company called virtuoso maritz research.
Has anyone shopped for Pacific Research?
One of their clients is Krispy Kreme Doughnuts. I signed up and because I really don't care for KK I wasn't going to do the jobs. They called me and talked me into it and even offered me a bonus for the driving distance. The report is 114 questions long and requires detail comments for any no answer, plus 21-30 photographs.
The first assignment I did took me around 2 hours to complete on site with another hour at least submitting the report online and photographs. My pay was to be $30 plus $10.71 for the required purchase. My total invoice $40.71. It takes 6-8 weeks to be paid.
I checked the online status of my invoice and they have deducted points for the report and have reduced my pay to a total of $23.71.
I shopped for them again in July but that report is still in editing so no telling what they will do to it.
I submitted photographs required plus every NO response photograph and then one month later they deduct from what they owe me.
I would NOT recommend anyone shop for Pacific Research.
Let's see ... this is about the FOURTH post I have read about your poor experience with Pacific Research. I think we all get the idea you are unhappy with them.
It is very important to pay attention to the times listed on shops. There are requirements for when to shop and how long you are expected to be in the store. Companies will not pay you if you do not follow the guidelines. I would never call a company bad because I didn't follow the guidelines and did not get paid. Trensource, in my experience, is one of the easiest, fastest paying companies out there. All I have to do is follow their guidelines.

Making the world a better place to shop, one assignment at a time!
I too signed up for Gapbuster and haven't liked the results. There are a lot better companies out there. ShopNCheck, Beyond Hello, Ann Michael's. I went to [myworkonline.bravehost.com] and they've got a pretty good list of mystery shopping companies.
It doesn't really matter so much if the company isn't based in the same state you live, many of them tend to do business nationwide. It's just a matter of shops being available in your area. If the Mystery Shopping company has a client that wants shopped near where you live.
