Be Informed of Cell Phone Purchase/Return Assignments

The pay is above avearge, but not without risks. Your credit is checked and this does minimize your credit score by a few points for a short period. The often short-lived employee that signs you up has access to your SSN. The process of signing you up, checking your credit, etc. can be long. Returning the phone can be an even longer process with yet another employee with access to your SSN. Please be careful with these.

Thanks for the reminder. The other ones that can mess up your credit score (and possibly your existing insurance) are the auto insurance ones where you are required to give your SSN to get a quote. Some of the auto insurance you can say (as I do in real life when looking for a quote), "My credit score is about XXX. Can you give me a quote based on that and, of course, you will get to check my score if I choose to go with you."

Thanks to previous posts on this board, I've passed in this shop, regardless of the high (now bonused) fee. I don't like having credit pulls when they're not needed.

Good tip Flash on the auto insurance assignments in terms of using stated credit instead of an actual credit check. We need to protect our cedit scores and SSN's, regardless of bonus pay.
