MOD Pizza

The shop has a flat fee of $11 or $12. For those who have done it, do you come under reimbursement with one topping? Also, how is the report?

Here they pay 10.80 and it covers reimbursement, but not enough for a drink....I do like their pizza's.

Here it covers a pizza plus the drink, with about $0.40 left on the table. But, you have to order a certain specification like "order a classic pizza and add one topping". The pizza is all one price, regardless of the toppings you choose.
IIRC, it comes in pretty close. Tip: watch carefully the conditions when you enter the line. If a kids sports team or other large group has just arrived, chaos can ensue and throw the line off so they don't do what they normally should do, interfering with your ability to make all timings and observations as required. It will be held against you and you won't get paid. In other words, if you arrive and it's very very busy - come back later is my advice. Don't ask me how I know this
Given that similar pizzerias (800 Degrees, Blaze, Pie Five, Sauce, & others) are shopped with fee & reimbursement, I am not sure why one would shop Mod.
I did Pieology last week for $10 plus $15 reimbursement. Much better deal and report not bad. Got pizza, salad and drink for under the reimbursement.
Pizza and small drink runs $10.65 at the two I've been in. I never even touch those shops until they get desperate and raise it to $15, which will at least cover my gas on top of the food.
Pieology is always taken and we have one 1/4 mile from me....I'd do that over Mods, but can't get it.....

I like MOD, and even though I don't make much money on it I don't mind doing the location closest to me each time the rotation comes up. Or at other locations if I happen to be in the area.

Hmm. But you are not supposed to buy pizza and salad. Only two items total at Pieology. I agree the reimbursement is much more reasonable.

I feel the MOD offer is just not so good.

My bad. I just checked the guidelines and you are correct, it's pizza or salad. However my report was accepted and I got a 10. The amount to be reimbursed shows the total amount that I spent. I guess the editor missed it although I even commented on the quality of the salad.. This apparently is one of those shops where it would be impossible to spend the total reimbursement unless you were in a high cost location like at an airport. You are not allowed to order an alcoholic drink.

Interesting...i did a pizza shop at one of the other chains mentioned in this thread and came in behind a high school field trip with 30+ in front of me in line. The two servers did a great job but the timing was so far off. They wanted to know why there was a huge delay between this step and that step. I explained it originally in the shop and then again in 2 emails. They were curious why there were not more servers put on, like I should know. It was at the far end of lunch when there are not many staff around. I got paid with no issues after that.
Thanks Irene. I'm actually good without a drink requirement. I can either do water or a water cup with a fountain drink. I've never had their pizza.

Okay, thanks OC. I didn't know the pizzas were one price.

Oh, Bliss, I am so sorry! This is another example of an MSC only wanting positive reports for their clients.

For me, it's location. I have one shop near home (this one) and another shop near work (Roti). Also, I haven't done shops for this MSC in over a year.

Thanks, I didn't know they get bonused!

I wait for the MOD shops to go on bonus. They are fairly easy to write up, though.

I live in a shopper dense area also. Even the reimbursement only food shops (with other MSCs) fly off the board!

I did 3 MOD shops in 3 consecutive days because they were bonused. All were $21 to $23.
yes, your mileage may vary. I have done work for a different MSC that implies the shopper is being untruthful if the shopper turns in positive report after positive report. Some business locations are managed very well and the employees are excellent. I am not going to fabricate negative comments just to appear more realistic. I am honest.

Or if there are no other customers and the pizza cooks faster than expected it will be held against you and you won't get paid. Don't ask me how I know this.
You have got to be kidding!

I haven't had any problems with their reporting. There have been times where there were 5 to 10 people ahead of me and i just report the exact times. I have not been denied pay. They have video if they need to verify. I say just report what happens.
I had a MOD pizza cashier take my credit card, look at my receipt, and said "of course, no tip". They picked the wrong customer to say that to, and that went in my report (I was paid). I hadn't interacted with this person before, and did nothing to deserve it. Do they really expect a tip from every customer? That's insane. Do 100% of customers tip, for example, their Subway sandwich maker? no
I don't see many people tip at these kinds of restaurants. That cashier needs remdial training to say the least.
You got paid because neither of the described situations applied to you - the number of people in line made a difference lol.
