Canada shops/ Canada taxes

I have a friend that’s new to mystery shopping that lives in Canada. For those of you in Canada how does it work being an independent contractor there? It would just be a part time job maybe $1000-1500 a year. They already work full time and pay into the system from that job.
Is it like here in the US, not really an issue except an extra tax form at the end of the year? Thanks in advance.

SQM had a link to the relevant section on Canada Revenue Agency's website.

I just entered it on line 104 - other employment income. I only entered the fees I earned and not the reimbursements.

I didn't claim any expenses. I pretty much just do shops that are on my way on my personal errands/work.

They could check out form T2125 on Revenue Canada#s website. Statement of Business or Professional Activities
