Dental office check

I was wondering if anyone has done any Dental office shops? Basically you go to a dentist office they have posted or in some cases, to an office of your choosing and ask them (with a letter of introduction) if you would be able to complete an inventory form for toothpaste, toothbrushes, mouthwashes/rinses, and the promotional material that they have on hand. The dental office gets a check for $40 (mailed from the company) and then $25 for additional visits within the next 12 months (4 visits). We get $30 for completing the initial visit. Has anyone ever done one of these? Thoughts?

Yes, I have contacted some offices, but what throws the whole thing off, is the W9. Seems like no one wants to give out their info and have it on the web site. Which I can understand. And why would they make more money then us? You would really have to have a Dentist that you know really well, that would not care about going threw their personal belongings. I don't get the deal anyways.
Thanks for the input. It sounded interesting until the reimbursement part for the dentist. I probably could have sold the idea of the inventory faster without mentioning the incentive. Who knows, maybe it has worked out there and someone has some feedback on it. Either way, thanks for tagging me back.
Yes, I have noticed alot of Dentist offices are allowing it, do not know why, but they are. Maybe a little girl who works for there dad. Who knows. Check your job site. Kinda strange to me.
I have a good relationship with my dentist. I was his first patient when he opened his office years ago, and my family members are also patients. This shop is bonused here, by the way. My dentist's office manager is his wife. They're on board with me counting their freebies.

The W-9 only has to be completed by the dentist's office in order for them to get paid the coop fee. The dentist can opt out of being paid, if they choose.
Mert, thanks so much for the input. I have had the same dentist for about 10 years and I think I may present it to him. Maybe if it is successful, I may ask him for some input on how to approach others. I'll keep you all posted if I end up doing it. Thanks again!
According To Hoyle, we have to be careful about naming names.

These shops are not on the job board, as the shopper selects the client. The scheduler sent out emails. If an email wasn't sent to you, maybe they're not doing the shops nationwide. I would suggest sending the scheduler an email inquiring.
My son has an appointment tomorrow, does anyone know how I should explain it to them so they dont get scared off?
Had scheduler send me a (Letter of Introduction) and the w9, this way they (the office) can look it over and decide if they would like to do it. Has anyone completed the shop? How did it go and how long was the report. I also found out you can do 2 shops.
I contacted 6 dentists offices today, including my own. No one was interested, so I have given up on this. You have to have the dentists approval before applying, so if you contact a bunch of dentists and no one says yes, you've just wasted all that time.
It's a put-it-all-on-the-shopper-to-make-it-happen shop. If you're not on a first name basis with your dentist, it may not be worth it.
I agree with these posts. I do need a cleaning but the shops require you come back a few times that year, don't they? I'm a bit hesitant using a dentist as a money source unless I know him pretty well. And frankly, the less I see a denist, the happier I'll be!
I have a close relatioship with my dentist and have a couple of dentists firends. Just for that reason I decided not to approach them. I am not in control of the situation, if they get paid or not, or anything else involved in the shop. So I do not want to be responsible for it, and I do not want to be in a situation where I can's see my dentist anymore and have to go looking for another one. It is not worth the money.
This is true now that it has been mentioned. If we do something that the client does not like, and the little office girl is expecting the 40.00, does she/he get paid still, or do we not get paid and they do. Very interesting. Mine just gave me a $10.00 bonus. UMMMM!
