My first Sonic - drive in stall shop

Does this mean we pull up in our car to the thing where you order and then stay in the car and eat?

Also, can I have it without mayo? And it says they prefer you order a burger, does that mean I definitely shouldn't order a hot dog?

Yes, did you read the guidelines for the shop? it'll tell you what you can and can't remove and how to proceed with the drive-in. The drive-in is considered the stalls versus the drive-thru which is the window with the speaker.

Yes, you can order without mayo. The guidelines allow you to remove and add toppings. Although they say they prefer a burger, you CAN order a hot dog. Just check the guidelines for the list of allowed entrees.
Yes. Allow a minimum of 20 minutes for this: the wait for your food, then required to wait 10 minutes for a "check back" -- which, in reality, because of short-staffing, currently doesn't happen. But you still have to wait the 10 minutes. And don't take a single bite until you've taken the requisite photos!

I would LOVE to order a chili dog, but theirs have cheese. I really can't tell from the guidelines if I can order it without cheese and with onions. And mustard!!!

PS - be sure to know before you get there exactly what to do if you get no response after pushing the red button, and what to do if drive-in is closed. If you don't get these right, your shop will be disallowed.

The guidelines specifically say for lunch and dinner you can remove any produce, topping, condiment or cheese. You can add anything that's on the make it your own list.
Chili cheese dogs do not come with onions. I wish they did. They only come with chili and cheese.

And I don't see onions on the add list, either!

It's available produce item, you can add it.
What's a chili dog without onions? LOL. And I don't want it with cheese. Just gimme the dog, the chili, and the onions.

Now I'm craving one! But the nearest Sonic to me is about 25 miles and not worth a trip just for that, and there aren't many shops available in that area, either. Will have to eat on my own dime next time I'm in the area of one.

I learn something new every day, but not everyday!
I've learned to never trust spell-check or my phone's auto-fill feature.
