Tornado rendering house unlivable not good enough

to excuse a flake on the Arches, OMG!

I had a bonused shop scheduled for Tuesday-it was raining and given the part of town I was going to, I might as well have held up a sign saying "hey, I am your Mystery Shopper" doing a shop there in the rain. Rescheduled for Wed.

Had no idea that my house would be hit by an F2/F3 at 5:50 am on Wed. As soon as I could pick up a cell signal, I logged in and cancelled. Scheduler called immediately back to find out WHY I flaked (incoming calls went straight to v/m with problems). I called back and left a detailed message. Never heard another word.

Can't access shop link now..............nice one :/

No power, water, gas-foundation jacked from 100 year old trees and their root balls, but interior intrusion spared. Lost nothing other than house repairs and 4 deck chairs. I am very, very lucky. smiling smiley And grateful. I have friends who lost everything, including family members.
I'm so sorry to hear that you need even to put up with no power/water and cleanup but you are right, you are very lucky to have all family members safe. This has been a truly tough spring with the storms.
I'm glad you came through it safe and sound, 3offthecharts.

We went through a storm a few weeks ago. Damage, even when comparatively minimal, can be emotional and cause upheaval. Seeing others lose their homes or worse, puts it in perspective.

When a recent storm hit here, hubby and I were driving to a dinner shop. The barrage of wind and hail began. Our car was pelted and windows cracked and shattered. I told my husband to take us home and forget the dinner shop. He, the non-shopper, has heard me talk of flakes, and knows I am not one. He made sure I meant what I said. My daughter was driving nearby, and called me. She was so scared. Both front and back windshields had been shattered out of her car. A 3-year-old Civic, her first brand new car which she loves. She was driving without windows and with broken glass all around her in a hail storm and was afraid she saw funnel clouds. We stayed on the phone as instinct pushed us home, where we all arrived, scared but unharmed.

We're getting house and cars repaired, and realize how lucky we are. But, be it ever so humble, there's no place like home.

When I cancelled the shop, I was prepared to back up my story with links from local weather stations, proving that I was telling the truth. The MSP for my dinner shop expressed relief that my family and I were unhurt. She told me to give her a new shop date, when the dust settled. No links neededsmiling smiley

It's funny the different treatment between companies. I had to reschedule a few shops in early Jan. when my daughter was in the hospital with possible kidney failure. Two of the MSPs couldn't have been nicer and sent good wishes. One (whom I've never so much as attempted to reschedule with in the past and NEVER missed a shop) all but accused me of lying. I ended up scanning her release papers.
I think I know what MSC this was, but please PC me dear one and let me know. Ron and I have discussed thisand will deactivate ourselves if they do not reinstate you. This was intolerable behavior on the part of any MSC in the light of the tragedies the tornados in the south have caused. God will give us people to work with who will bless us as shoppers instead walking thru the arches having to look over our shoulders to make sure those who we need to support us aren't waiting to stab us in the back. And they can keep the 15 shops we have scheduled with them too.
i didn't get hit by a tornado but i did wreck my car during one of those freakish hail storms and had to cacel some shops. VTI couldn't have been nicer or more concerrned for my safety. Shame! Please let me know if I need to force the issue and be in the market for a new MSC. I'll send them a link too. One showing the mile wide twister that took out Tuscaloosa. grrrrrrrrrrrrr

I am glad to hear you and your family are okay. The people at that MSC should be ashamed.
Many MSC live in an unreal world. When my dad died a merchandising company said can you come before the funeral. No. I was dumped. No word, just dumped.

Storms, health, family come first.

To any hit by these storms forget the MSC, other companies will come along.
With the clue of Archs we can all guess the company. Sad.
Sorry to hear about your misfortune, Great that you are safe! MSC's and property can always be replaced.
During my reign as Mystery shopping Queen, I have had to evaquate for Hurricane Rita, and "Drastic" Hurricane IKE. Each time the companies were sympathetic although I was only out of power for IKE. Maybe the tornado was unbelievable. Either way that is a shame that they would be so thoughtless.
Interesting...........as of this am, link is restored, but all shops for that client are no longer showing.

Worth contacting them about or let it go? Thoughts?
Dear 3: I would definitely make contact. This situation may not be as you understand it. Sometimes one party or the other doesn't have enough information, and this could be the case here. Recently, I have had problems with the connection, and with pulling up shops. You may be experiencing technical difficulties which have nothing to do with your shopping status. Please continue to check this out until you are certain what happened here. The good news is that your family is safe. I believe you will feel much better about this if you try to make contact and get a clarification. You will know you have done your best, whatever the outcome.

Mary Davis Nowell. Based close to Fort Worth. Shopping Interstate 20 east and west, Interstate 35 north and south.
If it is Market Force, it is usually best to talk to someone. I had an "emergency last minute" shop about 40 miles away that I had to reschedule multiple times this winter when a storm hit our area. I suspect that canceling online will get you "Samantha," instead of a person. If you cannot call someone, emailing helpdesk gets a human, too.

(I cannot say the same for the Upstate NY branch of MF. I am talking about the Georgia crew with the FFs.)
I'm only showing 1 shop oday foe them...usually have tons.
