Escape Room shop?

Just got an email for an escape room shop in Oxnard, CA. That's too far from me, but something certainly worth considering as a fun activity for the family. I did not read the details, but I am guessing it's reimbursement only. I might consider it if report is NOT brutal and there was one close enough to me.

Same for me . I will have to figure out how to escape from Oxnard! Bad traffic on the way which is an escape room in itself that we get for free in California.
Find the escape route which works to get back home sponsored by the Dept of Traffic and Roads southern California. Cost to play the game is a tank of $6 a gallon gas.

What exactly is an escape room shop...no, what is an escape room? I'm feeling out of it right now.

Never mind, I Googled it. Sounds like fun, but I've still never heard of anything like that around here.

Never thought I would see Oxnard CA on these boards. I live close but this shop not for me
c'mon Ken. You don't want to do an escape room? I have done it 2x with office coworkers (pre-covid). We are a bunch of software engineers and would overthink the simplest things at times. It's a fun challenge. If report is decent, I'd much rather do it as a shop than to pay for it myself.
If you don't escape...your report could be late. Proceed with caution.

Just be cool folks.
Well, I'm a little claustrophobic, or actually a little isn't accurate.. i believe that i am not the person for this type of shop....

You actually can get out. It's just a room with a bunch of puzzles you have to solve. But if you were really uncomfortable or there was an emergency, you can walk right out the door.
