Wishful Wednesday - what's your MS wish?

Borrowed from my FB buy nothing group - what's on your wishlist?

Here's a few of my wishes:
I wish there was a way to search the platforms by day. Say you're trying to schedule July 19th. It'd be so nice to see which jobs are available on that particular day.

I'd love to be able to set limits for what kind of jobs I get email or text alerts for. I'm not doing a tobacco shop so please don't bother clogging up my inbox. I'm also unlikely to be doing a shop for $4. I get particularly irked when the pay isn't readily apparent either and you have to search out the info only to then find it's $4! Or age or gender restricted shops.... Well, you get the idea!

A gigantic wish would be having a centralized database for searching. I do use jobslinger, prestomap, etc. but it'd be so awesome to have the info in the same place.

And my final wish..... for bestmark to pay me!

I have never used Presto or Job Slinger or any of the like. I log in to everything one at a time to check what are my “go-to” MSCs. I’d love to see everything in one place, but they definitely want to compete against one another. It seems like there is plenty of business.
For ACL to go to full paypal or direct deposit not paper check for non fast pay shops. Also for Secret Shopper to get out of the stone age of paper checks as well.

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.

Wow, I haven't encountered checks yet! It does sound like the stone age!
Fortunately banks have left the stone age so we can now do mobile deposits. But it does feel weird getting a check in the mail. I have frequently found myself saying, "What's this?!" before stopping myself from tossing it with junk mail into the trash bin.
I wish I could figured out the tangled web of Gigspot, Ipsos, Sassie, Presto, etc. and how to work only directly with the MSCs!

I have also had MSCs mail me paper checks, which I wish to never happen again.

I wish there was a database of MSCs so I didn't have to try to decipher who shops what by combing through the forums. smiling smiley (Although I have learned a lot!)

The shops on SASSIE will allow you to search by date as well as other criteria. Just click the top of the column. I withdrew from Bestmark many years ago, because most of their shops paid $0.00. Is that still the case with Bestmark?
My wish is that our clients will be required by law to pay minimum wage or better.

And with no food or other items we have to buy used toward the pay.

Regardless of which email provider you're using, strongly consider using filtering rules to help organize your inbox. The obvious is to have a completely separate email dedicating it to types of emails, but setting up rules can auto-file the following:

1. Mystery Shop Offers
2. Mystery Shop Assignments
3. Bank Transactions and anything related to it.
4. Online purchases and any sort of receipts.

If you'd like assistance and actual examples of some of my rules I have set, let me know as I can dive deep into the topic.

Because of setting up rules, my inbox is near zero always, and whenever I want to search what kind of mystery shops are available, I simply go to my 'Mystery Shop Offers' folder in my email and sift through that. Then whenever I'm done, I can delete in bulk within worrying having to manually sort through it.

Very infrequently shopping the Greater Denver Area, Colorado Springs and in-between in Colorado these days.
Two wishes:

1) that it was STANDARD on all MS reports to have a field saying "is there anything else you feel we should know?" Then the MSC could decide whether or not to pass the info to the client, but at least you could tell them if an employee made a racist joke, or if it took you five tries to get an employee's attention, and so on. Or even just that you had absolutely out-of-the-ordinary specutacular service!

2) that MSCs would have a form on their shoppers' site or log where the shopper could say "BTW, I'm going to be in X area on Y date, in case you would like to get a difficult-to-fill assignment shopped" -- and maybe even "here's my requested fee." (Of course, they would also need to someone to regularly check these messages and (gasp!) respond to them!)

It frustrates me to no end when I'm going somewhere tomorrow, knowing that they haven't been able to get a place shopped in weeks, but they haven't updated the board yet. Then you get to that area, do your shops, get home, and see the stupid assignment listed and available for that same day. Theoretically the scheduling systems should always list all the acceptable shop date options, but I haven't always found that to be the case. And even if the date isn't one of their desired dates at the moment, they could easily reconsider when they look back and see how infrequently that location is shopped.
I agree with the email filters/limits. I’m going to just stop getting emails from KSS because I really don’t want to get “gentleman’s club” emails. On top of the emails from all companies for shops I don’t qualify for or don’t want to do for whatever reason, etc.

I wish that Equinox would restart their mystery shopping program.
Wish #1. Mintel Billboard Audits to return....that is my wish. I used to love driving out to the boonies and taking pictures of billboards. If anyone has a company that does BB audits and doesn't mind sharing it...LOL...hit me up!

Wish #2. Audits for the public good managed by a mystery shopping company. Cities and Counties actually deducting $$$ from your water/sewer bill, property taxes, etc... for filling out an in-depth survey about their goods and services over time. Something along the lines of documenting a reported deficiency at a park--say the swing set was broken--and taking pictures, reporting it every month. Same for pot holes on the roadway, broken stop lights, roadway lights being out, etc... If you incentivize the activity, it usually gets done. The issue that I have seen is that complaints are usually poorly formatted, anecdotal, or made to the wrong place. A good MSC could triage the complaints and make sure they at least get to the right department. I saw where one MSC was doing shops for what appears to be the City of San Antonio, TX public transit. Something along those lines.

Just be cool folks.
