How silly is that blurb you need to write to apply for a shop?

Good morning fellow shoppers,

There is an MSP that requires you to write a little blurb, supporting your application for a secret shop. The first few shops that I applied for, I didn’t think that much of it but now I just feel like I’m saying the same thing over and over again. I mean really, what are they expecting people to write? Are they expecting to see a sample of your writing style by making you write this blurb? Lately I’ve been using AI to help mix up my verbiage for this task. Would love to hear your thoughts! This is the only company I have come across that makes you jump through this little hoop.

They can see how you express yourself. For one company, I write "Thank you" and the gig is immediately and automatically assigned to me.

If it's the MSC that I'm thinking about, I always write, "I am available to perform this shop on XX/XX/20XX."
I wonder if it really matters and is only there because sometimes you have to bid, name travel fees, or state places you have been that are similar.
Neither the MSC nor the client is mentioned. What is this for? I know with Shopmetrics platform shops that dialogue box opens and expects some sort of input.
I was directly told, via email, by Jennifer who schedules for a Shopmetrics company, "Nobody reads that."

I'm guessing Coyle.
I have seen it in what seems like more than one company. The other day I expectantly came across a website that asked me to click on one of those I am not a robot boxes. Perhaps it is just to see if you are not a robot and they are just hiding that fact with a different look.
It's a thing on a couple different platforms. Shopmetrics used to do it (they may still for some MSCs). You must put something in the box to apply, I usually only say I'm available so something, not a full sentence. On Sassie there is also a box, sometimes. mostly they just want you to answer a question, my most common answer is yes..
I type "Does anyone read this?" And then instantly have the shop assigned to me.
It is silly, I should start saying "I am groot"

I just write...”I will complete the evaluation on __/___/___. Never had an issue.
Yeah, I don't mind the Shopmetrics blurb. It doesn't have to be anything much at all, since I'm always approved pretty much instantaneously, which proves no one is actually screening the applications.

At least it's better than that stupid Gigwalk "Tell us your opinion of our redesigned website!" shop that you have no chance of getting, but have to write a blurb in support of your application. When I was naive enough to think I had a chance of landing one, I would write earnest blurbs. Before I gave up applying completely, I went through a phase where I knew I had no chance but started putting in prank blurbs, like "My hovercraft is full of eels. I will not buy this record, it is scratched. Gee you have nice thighs" etc.

I'm sure no one read those either.
If it's for the MSC I'm thinking of, on their Shopmetrics side for clients like the orange train station and horse and buggy financial shops, they're basically auto-assigned. Nobody reads the blurbs, so just put a date you plan to do the shop and be done with it.

If your path dictates you walk through hell, do it as though you own the place. -unknown
